The MPG people brag about on this site continues to baffle me. I wish I lived on the planet you guys seem to live on. I have a 2.7 Auto 4 door Heritage and I have put 93 octane in it from the very beginning. I have never broken 17 mpg on any tank of gas.
...
No matter what mode whether it be normal or Sport, normal traffic or highway, I have never seen anything over 16.5 MPG. Ever.
I know the larger tires of the Heritage/Sasquatch make a difference, but I feel like you should be able to do a little better than that. I have the V6 Badlands, albeit, non-Sas and 2-door, but 18 is doable without any effort--on 87 octane. Above 20 is easy if I drive 70 instead of 80 or higher.

My Bronco passed 20K while off-roading recently. I was averaging over 18 with 2/3 off-roading and 1/3, 70+ mph highways on 87. Do you drive really fast or get a lot of headwinds?

I think a lot of people get hung up on Bronco A gets X MPG, while Bronco B gets Y MPG

There's a ton of factors besides the tune that go into what mileage you get. SO don't get hung up in the absolute MPG numbers... or the fact that one guy gets better, or worse mileage than someone else.

The point of this thread, was that Bronco A got X MPG before the tune, and then Y MPG after the tune - which nails it down to just one variable (hopefully, unless other stuff changed there). That's a valid observation. You do expect MPG to change somewhat with a performance tune - just usually I would expect it to be downward. In this case, a lot of people, including myself, are seeing the opposite.

Which is good - better performance, better milage - what's not to like: Having to run Premium gas (also, Ford ninja-removing features).

22 Badlands Sasquatch 2.7L. I used to get 18-19 MPG but the factory calibration on the speedometer was off to actual speed. After I calibrated the speedometer to the correct values, my MPG dropped to 16. Numbers aren't always as they seem.

Got an improvement of ~2 mpg after the tune on my 2 dr. Badlands, with the manual. There was a real improvement while towing, too.

I travel a bunch so I find myself in 87 or 89 only pumps. How will this affect the pro cal? Only thing that's holding me back

Base sasquatch 2.7 auto 19.5 avg on regular gas. An I thought that was bad mileage!
Happy New Year @freebob …. Just reading this thread to gain some insights on fuel economy. I currently have a 2022 Outer Banks with V6 but no Sasquatch. I am looking at a low mileage 2023 Outer Banks with V6 & Sasquatch & I am wondering how big of a hit on Fuel Economy comes with the Sasquatch. I currently get 22.3 to 23.5 mpg regularly on my daily commute of 50 miles round trip. My Outer Banks is the daily driver Bronco & I have been very pleased with MPG & performance. I see your comment that you get 19.5….are those stop-n-go conditions or favorable driving conditions. My commute is 50 to 60 mph with only a few stops.

Thank you.

I purchased the Performance Tune for my 22 Base Manual a while back. I’ve been very happy with it with it overall and noticed my average MPG has gone up. The first pic is from December 23 when I went from Denver to Wichita and back. The second is after the tune and several trips between Denver and Colorado Springs. Almost exclusively highway driving. Is anyone else seeing these kind of results?

Dec 23 = 14.9
Oct 24 = 19.8

It would be interesting to see what mods really do yield better MPG. Tune, intake, exhaust, etc. I am all in to get the best MPG I can possibly get and invest now while I am still working before I retire- when every single MPG will count to get me to the fishing spot as cheap as possible. The problem with mods is that if they do yield more performance, we tend to use it and get the same if not worse MPG. I would think, tune, intake and exhaust should yield an improvement. I just added exhaust. I feel the increase and better breathing but still monitoring if there is any improvement.

We bought a 2024 Badlands Sasquatch Edition in October and quickly figured out the rig is no sipper. Our Bronco is a 2 door 2.7L on 35's.
87 octane gas yielded horrific 13.7 MPG (US gallon).
91 octane gas got us 17 MPG.

I've been wondering if the Ford performance tune will help fuel consumption since we already run 91 octane. Also really interested if there is any real world data for the best mods (intake, exhaust, etc.). I'm going to upgrade where it makes sense, otherwise it's a TurboSmart BOV and a somewhat lighter foot when I care about MPG's.

It takes a little time for the engine break in and then the mpg will go up. But we're in the middle of winter gas right now and that always puts a 1-2 mpg hit on most vehicles. I just did the tune around the end of Nov so I won't get a good mpg comparison reading until May most likely. I would give it some time but the biggest thing I noticed was when I added a 3" cat-back exhaust, when you took your foot off the gas, you could feel the truck kept coasting much better due to reduced backpressure I guess. The stock muffler is pretty bad.

Im thinking about the Tune for my Base w/no sas. Howd the change in preformance feel when you punch it compared to stock?

Now that I've had a good 10 months with the tune, I wanted to go back and see what the results were. It's tough for me to do an apples to apples comparison because I did the intercooler, charge pipes, intake, lift and went to 37's all in a short window. But looking at my summer driving comparing 24 to 25, my mpg is pretty much the same (May-Sep) and came out to 19 mpg. But if you factor in that I did not need to recalibrate the speedometer for the 37's (the stock reading with 35's was always high) I'm actually getting around 1 mpg better mileage with the tune, the other mods and the taller tires. I'm a bit surprised and happy with the overall results.

Just my $0.02, I would prioritize telling the computer the true tire size and having the Speedo behave like stock than getting true mph on it . Get the rev off tirerack and drop that number plus 1 in the livernois and try it..

I bet youll get even better results especially with shift scheduling, pulling that boat, and dealing with the hills in NJ!

I would say it’s easy enough to be worth a try
