Am I missing something here? Anyone know why does Mud & Ruts default to 4H and not 4L?

I get that idea, but - in practice - it performed better in 4L the numerous times I’ve been in some decent mud/ruts - with the 7MT anyhow…I guess I’ll have to put it to the test some more - but, in the scenarios I’ve found myself - 4L got me out.

I guess if I was hauling through a wide open bog without an actual trail to consider. That makes sense.

I understand that the modes are pretty cookie cutter - and you need to make decisions based on your specific scenario - but, I’ve found myself switching to 4L various times to get unstuck or out of other precarious situations.

Wheel speed (centrifugal force) to clean the mud out of the lugs for them to get a better bite.

Another little trick for you MT owners. If your stuck in the mud, 4 hi and starting off in 2 gear will usually get you out.
