Get yourself a nice BRIGHT head torch. Trust me. When the shop light doesn't reach and you need two hands, your head torch will get light right where you're looking!!

These are my new favorite headlamps. They're super bright, very lightweight, rechargeable, and have a function to turn on just by waving your hand by your head. The down side to that being that if you're moving your head around and get it too close to something, it will shut off maybe right when you need it. A Google or Amazon search for "headlamp" should bring these up almost immediately since there's about 50 companies selling these. No idea who thought of it first...
