Why use premium on a road trip? You're just going to be steady state cruising 90% of the time, unless you do things differently than most...regularly I'll be using regular, on a road trip I'll be using premium. Around town it won't make any difference, so might as well save the $. Going up the mountains it might make a difference, so I'll go premium then.
Oh, except the first tank, that's gonna be premium, hope I can talk the dealer into that or I'll just wait until I used up what ever they give me when I pick it up.
My road trips usully involve multiple 6% and 7% grades at 7000-9000ft elevations with a fully loaded vehicle. There's a road with an 8% grade, but I haven't been that way lately. Why use premium on a road trip? Please provide direct quotes, I’d love to see who said that!I was told on these digital pages that anything less than Premium 93 RON gasoline will cause the motor to explode on Bronco.
Thankfully the 2.7 is twin turbocharged, so you get penalized more for using lower RON fuel.
It was an eccentric characterization of what you have said in the past, actually. Please provide direct quotes, I’d love to see who said that!
If anything it would be people saying putting premium in would grenade the poor 10R60Please provide direct quotes, I’d love to see who said that!
The computer that controls the engine will detect the lower grade of gas and de-tune the engine in order to avoid any knocking. Can anyone on here explain why switching octane levels from time to time WONT make knocking more likely down the road?
