$4 a gallon? For premium?? What a bargain!!
I just filled up with regular 87 for $5.64 a gallon 🤷
We're talking USD here not your cartel maple syrup monopoly money. 🙃

Christ, and I was irritated at paying $3.69 for 93 today.

I did try running 89 a week ago, just to see what happened. Pinging galore anywhere above half throttle. I guess my MINI's engine management isn't sophisticated enough to compensate, at least not with my current mods. Still looking forward to eventually getting a Bronco.

Cheapest by me is $3.95 for premium gas and $3.35 for regular. For the slight increase in power and possible mileage I’ll stick with the regular stuff and I have no concerns over longevity.

The only cars I’ve run premium are cars that are tuned for it and only it.

You're really going to pass on that 1% increase in torque, for a mere 60cents per gallon? Could I interest you in the Roush air filter kit?:)

Yeah, weird that we buy and pay for imported oil on the global market, being a national oil producer 🤷
Also, we pay an ever increasing carbon tax on fuel.. Which is also illegal tax on tax.

I plan to run only premium (used to it coming from my Land Rover). I generally try to hit fuel rewards programs from Safeway or Costco to get the lowest possible cost.

I'm going to do some testing, if 91 gives a big enough mpg boost to offset the cost I'll run it, otherwise I'm perfectly happy with 275hp.
So the sample size is very small and you can't draw conclusions off a single tank of each, but in the early going premium is showing about a 15-20% improvement for a 10% cost increase. My first tank of 87 was 17.1 mixed, now on 92 I'm at 20.5 mixed.

😳 2.7L. Just paid $4.11 per. Am I waisting my money?
Depends on if you value the additional HP premium provides. Premium goes for $4.89/gal in CA.

no, your running a turbo system, don’t wanna cause knock in a cyclinder under load. I will always put premium in a turbo/FI system. I even put premium in my 69 with a 302 v8. However, they say you should be okay with lower.

good read for this:
https://www.cobbtuning.com/ford-ecoboost-and-the-octane-adjust-ratio-monitor/
I have a Fiesta ST with a COBB Accessport and custom 93 tune and the tuner advised me to monitor the OAR after I fill with gas, to make sure it's good gas. Hoping COBB will add Bronco to their tuning platform.

I’m compromising and doing non-ethanol 90 which is slightly cheaper than Premium in NC. What I’ve also done is order and install the Roush cold-air intake for better MPG. I have the 2.7L and it has given me almost another MPG. It doesn’t sound as cool as it does in a V8 pickup but you can tell there is a little more gitty-up in that Pony.

I have an ecobost, run 87 and have had no issues, 40K. I know another individual that has 100K on theirs, run 87, no issues.
I had an F150 and put 180,000 on it. I would put 89 or 91 in it every 3rd tank.
Normally ran on 87.
I did regular maintenance and no issues. Had plenty of power.
I didn't notice more than .5 mpg difference.
The higher octane IMO, kept the engine cleaner.

Still trying to understand the milage claims I ran regular gas for 9000 miles from Alabama to Colorado and Utah then back to Alabama. I averaged 16.5 mpg. At highway speeds. Got 20.1 in Colorado mountain driving at 35 to 45 mph lot of downhill coasting. I started running premium at 4$ gal and see 17.1 mpg at highway speed. Badlands 2.3l.
