Looks like I may ride this more than the top-off Bronco this summer. More than 2X the efficiency, considerably less cargo room, and no sway bar disco.

I was not all that excited when I ordered a Lightning, but now I am.

I sold my Sportster last fall but I've been eyeballing the Z900RS hard. Might have to pick one up. $10k+ buys a lot of gas though.

and then off to other nations as it was designed for
Never to be used here in the USA
Not totally. WCS has the right API as feedstock for the Gulf refineries. The other sources are Venezuela and other overseas sources, which are blended at large facilities before being sent to the refineries. Most of Canadian crude shipped to the refineries ends up being burned as fuel in the states.

Fun fact: When the US calculates it’s reserves it includes the available Canadian oil in the calculations.

Get ready for gas prices to surge. Our Broncos are going to be hit hard. I believe several things are going to happen as a result:

1). Fewer people are going to be ordering 20 mpg < vehicles.

2). Many Broncos will be sitting at the house.

3). Off roading will become more home based.

4). EV ordering will dramatically increase.

5). There is suddenly going to be a surplus of used Broncos (This may take a few months).

*This is all contingent on the average, national price rising within a few months, to $5 or more a gallon.
Yes - all of the above.

I think you’ll start to see a larger than normal number of cancellations byJune. It is not just gas prices. People simply find themselves in a different economic situation than a year or two ago when they ordered their bronco.

How does a pipe from Alberta to Houston change gas prices?
Well…..with the cancellation of the pipeline along with other governmental energy “missteps” we went from an oil exporting nation to an oil importing nation……which then put us at the mercy of OPEC to fulfill our energy needs…..that coupled with other ”governmental“ missteps on the world stage has caused both massive inflation and a massive increase in the price of oil. Oil is traded on the futures market…….which is basically gambling on the world stage……when someone puts road blocks in the way of future oil production the price on current production goes up to compensate for perceived future difficulty of extracting petroleum from the ground.

So in the grand scheme of things-

Gas prices
$3 a gallon at 18MPG over 12k year-$2000 a year
$4 -$2666
$5 -$3333

So that works out to be

$3 a gallon is roughly $38 a week
$4 gallon is roughly $52 a week
$5 gallon is roughly $62 a week

You might want to rethink buying a $50K vehicle if you can't absorbe a $1300 or so a year increase in gas prices-which is roughly 2-3-4 car payments.

Looks like I'd better get to fixing my 1998 Vette once and for all (cursed with electrical gremlins currently). Best I got with that was 25 mpg, which is way better than the 15.5 I'm getting with the Bronco. Spring around the corner is perfect timing.

Cue the "so what will you buy to have a fuel efficient daily driver" thread  .. but i was trying to talk myself into something more fuel efficient already.. My JLUR on 35's is already less than stellar on highway trips.. have feeling my BL Squatch will be less fuel efficient than my JL... So surely a Stang with 2.3L is justifiable for its Fuel Efficiency HAHAHAHA... I want FUN but Fuel efficient...
Heck, my wife's '18 5.0L GT on a good day will get 26 mpgs. That's as good as my 2.3L Ranger. I've seen situations like this play out many times during my time on earth. Everything will eventually level out after the craziness is over. We have just got to get ourselves through this craziness, because it's for damn sure our government (on both sides of the isle) couldn't care less what we go through as long as they can get re-elected.
