Yeah sounds like the X-plan paperwork may have been bounced back to the dealer for being incomplete.Sounds like Ford (not your dealer) raised a red flag about your x-plan documents and they need more info to confirm your eligibility. Maybe @RagnarKon can shine a bit of light on the back end workings of x-plan and Fords requirements to help us better understand the situation.
Dealer is the source of contact for anything post sale.Since it seems the issue is with Xplan, have you reached out to them, if that’s possible. If they don’t have the documentation required, wouldn’t it be quicker to deal with them than the dealer?
Call your states Attorney General's office and file a complaint. ASAPI bought my Bronco in mid January and have been waiting to get my plates from the dealership since then. Today I was told that they are refusing the transfer the title because X Plan want more documentation from me/the dealership before paying out the X Plan side of it to the dealer.
To be clear:
- I’ve signed a purchase contract.
- Given them my trade in vehicle
- Taken the new Bronco and put 1100 miles on it.
- Seen the auto loan in my online banking and made the first payment.
I’ve sent them the proof of employment that they’ve demanded but I feel like they’re extorting me, refusing to transfer title on a vehicle which I’ve paid for. I’m also worried that they’ll continue dragging this out or even try to repossess the vehicle, or demand more money from me.
I want to bring this to the attention to Ford corporate. I called their hotline today and got a very weak response (they’re putting a complaint to the dealer GM)… does anybody have any contacts or advice on who to talk to at Ford?
I wonder if they're doing a 100% audit now that Bronco qualifies for Xplan. Also Texas is an electronic title state, no physical title will exist until it's paid off.Wonder if they got the rando audit like we did a few months ago. We had to provide a bunch of additional docs as the plan stuff is on the honor system where Ford will pay with the assumption the dealer got all of the supporting documentation. Sometimes you do, sometimes they ask for additional stuff but none of that should've held the title unless it's some sort of dealer policy in the event Ford charges the plan discount back so they can go back on the customer. Don't know that's the case here but it really does sound abnormal.
I think it's more of a cost saving plan for Ford. Charge a few back here or there for some b/s reason (or worse case, uncover blatant fraud) to save them $$.I wonder if they're doing a 100% audit now that Bronco qualifies for Xplan. Hate to say it, but I'm not the first. Dealers suck. They already have my X Plan PIN and proof of employment with an eligible company (i.e. payslip). I gave this to them during the purchasing process in January.
Now, weeks later, they are demanding further proof of where I work - which I have provided, again - and refusing to title the vehicle.
Let me be clear: they have their money and I have a signed sales contract. They have no legal right to withhold my plates or titling. They are having a dispute with X Plan and they are trying to make it my problem.
