I've given up on connecting the CCV side, but if i were to do it, I would just cut the line in the middle and not destroy the factory connectors .... then add two connectors to each end of the cut tubes and connect to my catch can.
It was easy to just break the yellow three-pronged connector and to then use the Mishimoto fitting which is removable...and then buy the $15 spare line in case you ever have to swap back to OEM for whatever reason. Even with the special tool that you can get to push in those three tabs there's very little room to get the tool in between the fitting and the outlet. You could somehow make your own tools with similar precision as a lockpicking tool to get the angle and then the 90° you need to push in the tab, but by the time you do all that you could have already had the entire project finished.

Hi @BroncoLV - thanks for sharing your experience. I do apologize this return process has taken longer than planned.

To make sure we are on the same page, your Bronco's CEL is the first we have heard. We have sold many, many Bronco catch can kits and have not had issues. For some other, select, applications, we have seen CELs. Those, too, have been very isolated. I'm sorry this product does not work for your specific Bronco. Every vehicle is different, every vehicle has different modifications, and many vehicles in different geographic locations.

Regarding the recommendation to stuff the catch can with steel wool, I am unsure why our Customer Service rep recommended this. In addition, we never recommend tuning around a potential issue. I apologize for the misdirection provided, this is not our standard protocol.

Bronco community - please feel free to post here, send a DM, or contact our Experience Team if you have any CEL issues with your dual Mishimoto 2.7L Baffled Oil Catch Can. We are committed to this platform and are happy to work with the community.

Hi John
I’ve emailed your customer service group regarding my 2023 Bronco Badlands 2.7l CEL (P051B).

Hope you guys figure this issue out and can support the Bronco community
The issue seems be trending up.
I am not sure. I just saw the Ford Pass App state Crankcase Ventilation Hose Sensor and figured that was the CCV side. When I would clear the code it would just come back within 3 days. Removing the CCV side it would not come back.

I’m getting the same Ford Pass Alert after installing Mishimoto twin catch can system.
I now see an alternative to going back to all stock hoses (PCV and CCV

No CEL light yet for me...is it possible your can was shipped and the drain plug or lid is not tight? I believe if the system detects a leak it would trigger a CEL.

Have you checked to make sure your cans are tight? I know when I installed mine the cans were loose from Mishimoto? Just hoping this might solve the problem? Good luck!

Can bottoms were separate from tops when delivered
Assembled can bottoms to tops and tightened
Still tight
Not sure what brincorik meant by drain, I saw no drains in the CCV side catch can system
Thx for the comment tho
Still waiting for Mishimoto to get back to me

Hey @SasquatchMI - Yes, Damien escalated your ticket yesterday. You are the second CEL issue with our MMBCC-BR27-21S (kit including BOTH PCV + CCV cans). We have not received any complaints about MMBCC-BR27-21P (the PCV-only kit).

The first customer had an aftermarket BOV and your Bronco is totally stock. Our local Ford dealership confirmed that both PCV and CCV hose OEM part numbers are the same for all 2021-2023 2.7L EcoBoost Broncos. Our 2.7L EcoBoost Bronco Badlands used to R&D the kit is a 2021. We have sold many of these kits, assuming installed on mostly 2021 and 2022 Broncos (less 2023's on the road). Given that it appears to be a 2023 issue, we are adjusting our website to reflect 2021-2022 fitment for MMBCC-BR27-21S.

The common denominator between your CEL and the first customers is that both vehicles are 2023. One hypothesis we are currently investigating is that for 2023 models Ford changed the ECM parameters for the CCV (crankcase vent) pressures. In order to investigate this further, we need a 100% stock 2023 2.7L EcoBoost Bronco in our R&D facility (New Castle, DE). If anyone in the community has one, and is local, we'd love to borrow your Bronco for R&D! Please reach out to me via DM.

Thanks,
John

I might have been thinking of the catch can I have on my Sprinter...it has a drain on the bottom with an o-ring. I imagine that a pinched o ring or a loose cap would definitely throw a CEL, and it makes sense that Ford would tighten the ECM range on the newer models because they're probably upset that anyone would dare to install something that might improve the longevity of the engine...

You are correct there is no drains on the Mishimoto setup. Let us know what you hear back? I have had mine on now for about 2500 miles with no issues.

It should be interesting since I have a 2023 Bronco Badlands with a 2.7l with less than 1,000 miles.
BTW mine was built in early March 2033.

If you are anywhere near Newcastle, DE looks like Mishimoto would like a vehicle for R&D. Could be beneficial? Looks like they may be having an issue with the 23 models. Hopefully Ford will release the computer so the aftermarket programmers can fix this issue as well as open up the parameters for the ecoboost 2.7.

The problem is not with the Computer .... there are other catch cans on the market that dont have issues like shitimoto does.

Which ones so far are working well on the 23s without coding? I have only the Mishimoto on my 21 and so far zero issues...I have nothing to compare it to personally but have heard others with other brands share code stories with theirs even on the 21s.

Ah ha...I am not crazy... I just checked and yes both my Mishimoto cans have drains on the bottom.

Blurry pic for your review...
