I paid 300-ish bucks to have a pillar lights put in from a local dealer.

No washers used on the install, no rubber backing on the bracket, and the windshield cowl doesn’t sit flat at all.

I got the best pics I could at night.

1-10 how mad should I be when I drop it back off? I’m at like 14 right now.

Bud, ANYONE can do a light install on our vehicle with a simple YouTube video which there are hundreds. Ford literally made it dead simple on the bronco and impossible to screw up. No serious routing of wires, no hole drilling. You paid $300???????????? It took me 30 min my first time ever doing anything like this. But a shop? Can’t be more than 15 min!

Yeah, that doesn’t really look bad from the surface…probably would have put a bit more care making it perfect myself, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it.

Washers are ideal, but easy enough to slap on.

Unless rubber came with the mounting kit, it’s a powder coated item on plastic… no need.

The cowling tends to angle. How you torque the bolts will pull the bracket. I used some toolbox drawer matting, cut to fit, and slid underneath as a shim to angle the lights towards the center of the truck.

The wire routing is down right poor. That’s either laziness or a lack of knowledge of how to route it.

I get that you paid for it, but I wouldn’t bother taking it back. Let them know how you feel and fix it yourself - a skill learned. Loosen the light and bracket. Pull the wiring around to the trim corner on glass, add your shim and washers…

Go in with a 5/10 heat level. It’s not that bad…

I just got mine back from a MIC front panel seal whistle… they scratched the hell out of the paint on the A pillar… that might warrant a 10/10 to the right person - a vehicle shouldn’t come back worse off

Definitely I would be upset, especially for something that easy to do and install correctly…

You can see the whole in the second pic where the wire would go through and not lift the plastic. I would be mad but really you can do this in 30 minutes and make sure it is right. Super easy and lots of how to videos.

I was thinking the same thing. I did my fogs and it was the first time I had done something like that.

have you ever done one of those meal prep kit like hello fresh? I feel like Installing accessories on the bronco is like that. It’s a great vehicle to learn on because it’s like fisher price level easy. Once you’ve done a few things, you start to understand how things work and I feel 100% confident to work on my Tacoma now which has no bronco training wheels

Just move the wire to where you want it. How much more time and money are you going to sink into this DIY project by going back to the dealer? As I'm sure you've figured out, would have been better to do it yourself. Labor to install is certainly not worth $300, regardless of how good a job they do.

As far as the washer and the rubber, if you want that, add it. It's not like it has to have it. Probably would have been better to DIY if you wanted it done a certain way than to pay random people to throw something on there.

My anger level would be over them charging $300! It's INCREDIBLY easy to do and takes almost no time at all (about 30 minutes, including "where the #@&% are my Torx bits?").

Apparently they think their labor is worth $600/hr.
