my first new car was a 1993 wrangler s base model with a 5sp and 4cyl. i loved that thing and kept it for 7 years. my ex got it in my divorce, which was not so bad living in louisiana because it didn't have a/c. i loved the square lights. i bought mine through the PX post exchange while in germany, so it had a few years on the autobahn... it did the same speed dry or snow... passed by the mercedes in the dry but was the fastest thing in the snow...

I had the chance a few months ago to buy my friend’s old YJ for $7k and save a shitload instead of buying the BDBronco, which should be in my driveway this month. He’s got a buyer now and I’m kind of regretting I didn’t snag it instead.

I'd get a Base Base Bronco before buying that... just saying I think you made the right choice!

Different vehicles all together, the jeep would be fun (at times) but the Bronco would certainly be much more daily friendly with the "fun" capabilities built in.

I owned a YJ and it's my favorite jeep interior due to its sheer simplicity, but driving on front and rear leaf springs every day was not fun.
but,
Starting at $7k, you could do a full coil over suspension conversion for not to much moola and have one cool unique jeep.
