Because if they aren't this Facebook ad that just popped up on my feed is downright unethical. It clearly states "Bronco Hardtops now available", which if not backed up by actual product availability, is likely false advertising and subject to FCC action. Hopefully this is good news for the long suffering souls who put down loads of hard money 2+ years ago and are yet to see delivery.

Again... anyone heard of a company called shrockworks? Same shit lol.

I'd suggest that people get refunds or hit the 'stop payment' button on their credit card app.. cause this is goddamn ridiculous.

Well their own website states they are taking Pre-Orders, with an "Estimated ship date: 12-16 weeks", so there's the answer.

It said 12 weeks for quite some time before they updated to 12-16

There is a difference. This was an ad from ADV, and it is subject to the FTC "truth in advertising" act
https://www.ftc.gov/business-guidance/advertising-marketing

Under the law, claims in advertisements must be truthful, cannot be deceptive or unfair, and must be evidence-based
I guess you can argue that "now available" does not mean "now shipping", but it just speaks to ADV practices. As they say, it takes a lifetime to build a reputation and two years to destroy it :D. I don't have a horse in this race but as an observer I am not inclined to do business with ADV on their other product lines.

Lol, I'm rarely on FB anymore, but I saw that ad last night also!

.... and to think folks here used to get angry with me when I warned about these "100% pre-pay" , customer funded R&D shenanigans that are becoming more and more popular.

10% , 25% down, sounds reasonable... maybe, for custom order stuff.

I saw a similar scenario play out YEARS ago and it went very very bad.
Lots of folks lost the money with zero recourse.

Similar shit with another vendor here still.
He spent a shit ton of customers "prepay" money to fund a huge business expansion for a new product line , yet people are STILL waiting 6 months for small, EXPENSIVE, accessories from the old product lines where all the r&d is already done.

He's just not producing them because, why should he???
He already has the money and can use it as an interest free loan.
He's out there essentially buying toys with your dime.

It amazes me how willing people are to dismiss or even defend unethical business practices.

They said "Bronco Hardtops Now Available", they didn't specify from where.

Full prepay for a product not yet available is worrisome. Despite all the complaints about Ford's MIC top, maybe its harder to make a better replacement top than realized, for the $6,000. Maybe the OEM $895 or $1,895 top isn't such a bad thing after all!

If I lived in CA and had "bought" a AFC Bronco top with no delivery after a year or more, I'd be visiting the AFC plant with a 6g delegation demanding some answers!

Well, they are "Available for Purchase" (As several people purchased one over a year ago), just not "Available for delivery".
