Ya, you probably need to get over that fear. There are plenty of good reasons to either drill into or cut things off the frame...

Once you have started down the dark side, it will forever dominate your destiny and consume you... Just ask @userdude.

I had to cut stuff off my frame to fit the winch on the Gray Bronco.
Given current events I've developed something of a phobia regarding cutting things off that can not be re-attached. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Hello everyone, my name is George and I am new to this forum. I have a completely stock 2021 Black diamond two-door 2.3 manual transmission. I was off the road exploring yesterday and I came to an area that concerned me. A chilling feeling came over me as I realized it wouldn't be good if I were to get stuck several miles from any roads or town. I realized that if I had a winch I could likely have continued. But as it were I turned around and went back home. So I checked out YouTube and saw a Warren Mount and winch combination that seem to be a bolt on proposition. I am asking for help and advice regarding buying a winch and mount that would be relatively easy to mount to my black diamond with the modular steel bumper and keeping it as much as is possible to a lightweight & simple/basic proposition. I am only concerned with a most basic winch setup. Thank you for your assistance, I am overwhelmed as I do searches. I am new to the four-wheel thing.
when i ordered my 2021 bd 2.7 4dr softy i ordered a winch which never happen so yeah im watching this thread also ...

If you can’t weld there is always duct tape

So what's the deal with either of these bumper to frame supports not fitting? For what they cost I would expect a no hassle installation.

There's a fix for that! LOL, welders and surgeons.

Here’s a thread on why some (most) have issues with the ADD reinforcements.

I can’t speak to the ADD ones but I can tell you the only issue anybody has with the LoD ones (myself included) is that there is a tab that hangs down on 2 of the brackets that has to be removed to prevent contact with the factory skid plate. It’s easily removed on the work bench with a grinder or wheel before installation.. I’d hit the naked edge with a can of paint afterward too.

Here are the LoD ones https://lodoffroad.com/products/2021-bronco-lod-front-bumper-frame-tie-in-brackets

Here is a picture of where I had to cut. Also note LoD uses 2 bolts for each bracket piece vs. ADD’s 1

thanks Brian - 2 questions regarding the LOD - What is that part that has to be removed originally intended for? And, when you installed the LOD did you drill the additional hole and enlarge the existing on, and is it difficult to access and drill through the frame?

I’ll be honest, no idea what the extra loop is for. Only thing I could come up with was maybe something for flat tow but that’s a stab in the dark.

And yes, I drilled the extra hole through the frame after marking it by using the brace as a guide. With the bumper off it’s pretty accessible so wasn’t hard. Thats a big reason to do the reinforcements at the same time you do the winch/winch mount.. it’s all already off and readily available. I’m really struggling to remember the fine details as this was over a year ago but I also remember having to be real careful not to damage the fins on the oil cooler as its right in between the frame horns. Also I vaguely recall one or two of the holes being a pain as they’re right in the crush dimples or near them. Nothing you can’t do with a good drill/bit and some patience. I’ll attach the only photos I have of when I did mine

I have heard, that is exactly what that tab is for. 😁

From LoD : The LoD Ford Bronco Frame tie-in’s offer added mounting strength for front bumpers and are designed to be used in conjunction with flat towing your Bronco. Our Frame tie-in’s also offer you a place to mount your safety cables when flat towing your Bronco. The LoD Bronco Frame Tie-in’s come in either bare steel or a durable 2 stage corrosion resistant powder coated finish.

George, I was in the same boat with ya! Fairly new to 4 wheeling but I do get aggressive from time to time and wanted something similar to what you're asking for and surely never want to get stuck offroad somewhere when a few bucks up front for a winch would have taken care of the issue. I chose the Rough Country high mount that bolts directly to our bumper (same as yours) and their 12,000 lb Winch with synthetic rope. I chose the high mount over the low mount because I don't want to be rooting around in the mud or snow when trying to get to my winch. Just a little insurance policy in my mind! I do keep the winch covered so the rope isn't exposed to the sunlight all day long which can deteriorate the rope. Another factor is safety, most will agree if a winch cable is to break, it's safer for a synthetic rope to break vs a cable and they weigh less.

High Winch Mount | Ford Bronco 4WD (2021-2024) | Rough Country
12000-Lb Pro Series Winch | Synthetic Rope | Rough Country

Hope this helps!

Cheapest and lightest option is to wheel with a buddy…who has a winch.
I wouldn't want a piece of recovery equipment to be dependent on a Bluetooth gadget. The 12 foot cable withe the switch box is perfect.
