We're still evaluating that project at the moment, but we'll keep you in the loop either way! Can't wait, hopefully, next Mishimoto will start R&D for a Hi-Performance radiator as well.
We're getting very close on a lot of thesePlease just start selling some parts. Thanks.
That's a great question, and it really depends on your vision for your build. While both of these intercoolers are designed to keep charged air temps in check, each has a slightly different focus. Our high-mount design is more aimed at the serious off-roader, since the relocation should allow for fitting slimmer bumpers for a better approach angle, and potentially clear the way for hidden winches (something that we'll still need to confirm). Since we're moving this big bar-and-plate core up, there is a chance that it could affect the cooling properties of the AC condenser and primary radiator, but we'll monitor those during testing. Our stock location unit is focused more on the performance side of things since the core works out to be slightly larger, while not obstructing other components from fresh air.Pros and cons on the hi vs low intercooler you guys are working on? As always, don't hesitate to reach out with any questions you might have! The right gear is essential to any adventure. This, in turn, makes any adventure the perfect excuse to upgrade your load-out, and who doesn’t like to have the latest and greatest equipment? The same could be said about the rig that promises adventure-ready status at all times. While Ford made sure to load these Broncos out with a diverse arsenal of off-roading bits, there were some aspects that we still needed that excuse to upgrade.
Just needing to move a component to clear space for more off-roading equipment is one best excuses to upgrade your systems, and we devised just the thing. This high-mounted intercooler is ideal for those looking to hide a winch or plotting to improve the Bronco’s approach angle. Now that it’s in the shop, we’re stoked to show off this intercooler’s final design and rehome it behind the upper grille. Continue Reading...
I'll have a more in-dpeth update soon, but yes! So far we've tested this intercooler on our 2.3L and we're starting the testing on the 2.7 today. More to come soon!Any updates on this project? @Mishimoto
