So, which one is the heaviest, the MIC or the painted top? This is a perfect example of why there's so much mis information floating around.
The MIC Carbonized Grey Top is 50% lighter than the painted modular top.

BroncoKong is saying the the painted modular top is 50% heavier

Take your pick of descriptions lol

I'm no mathlete but they are different statements though....

A roof that weighs 50 lb is 50% the weight of a roof that weighs 100 lb

But a 100 lb roof is not 50% heavier than the 50 lb roof.....that would be a 75 lb roof

I think that is what BK Jr is getting at.......?

I’m trying to find BroncoGuys original post so I can just quote it directly for clarity

On the subject of weight, the painted hardtop is significantly heavier than the molded in color top. I'd guess it's 50% heavier.
Found it, from the insider it could be around 50% heavier than the molded in color

I understand that and posted the original quote so you guys could see. I didn’t say it was 50% of the weight of the painted. I said “lighter” which would require doing the math in your second example.

Regardless, the painted top is a different material, finish and heavier than the MIC top

Both of them have 2 panels over the front seats. The middle section on the 4-door over the second row is a single piece on both the MIC and modular tops. The modular top just adds the removable glass on the rear cargo section. Not sure if the “sunroof” section over the back seats of the 2-door is standard or optional on the modular top, but it isn’t on the MIC top for the 2-door.
Gah, I do hope it's optional on the 2-door modular top.

Work out the math, it’s different.

Edit: Guess it was already pointed out.
