Thanks for your post and welcome to the forum! If it was my money, it would go on a diesel Rubicon vs the V8. Much lower price point and the low down torque would make it something special. As a petrol head, a body on frame, offroad capable naturally aspirated V8 Jeep is something that should be celebrated, even if you think it's overpriced (it is) or don't particularly like Jeeps (we can agree to disagree on that). Fast forward 15 years we may all be driving Priuses or the hideous Cyber Truck..

I heard The Jeep thing was to add anchovies to pizza and I can’t Get down with that.

More like I didn't understand that Jeep thing so I bought a Bronco.

Ultimate Catch-22 here.

"I need a big engine so I can do extremely obstacles in the wilderness"

"I have a big engine so I can't go further than 50 miles from the closest gas station."

Further proof, zero reason for a V8.
*Probably only need a V8 for towing something or a joy ride hotrod like convertible R8.
Rock crawling = no
Desert running = no
Highway road trips = no

I get 21 with my big F150 3.5 but its on p rated non off road tires in eco mode which I use a lot if I use normal it will drop to 19 pretty easily. Sport mode forget it your racing to the next gas station.

That hemi is heavy, I would rather go lighter in all situations.

I get 13 with my Fj on 33’s and armored out. The v6 gasser in the Jeep is fine but it sucks going up the passes. My Fj is geared to 456’s and it still isn’t great. The wife’s diesel and my v8 power wagon make for a very fun drive through the mountains. I think the bronco will be over 20 and have the power close to the v-8 so it should be enjoyable to drive.

The 392 I awesome, I could afford it, but I don't need it. If I buy a Bronco it'll be a non-sas. 4 door, 2.7. My 17' Tacoma mostly stock averages about 14 mpg I think. If a 2.7 non-sas. Bronco averages 16 mpg I'd be satisfied.

Welcome. Don't expect great gains in MPG with the Bronco. I agree that the Bronco's styling blows out the Jeeps, especially the dash. I couldn't stand living with the newer Jeeps Italian Red Dash. The Bronco's could be better, but still so much better to look at than the Jeep's
YMMV

The bigger the tire, the more power needed to turn it. That's why people running 37"+ tires have been doing hemi swaps on their jeeps and other off road vehicles for years.

I disagree. My raptor with a 3.5 and prob 500+ pounds more than the bronco gets 16mpg around town easily. I have seen 18+ on the highway on my Raptor

Of course it will depend how eager you are with your right foot BUT I think the 2.7 will be better than the 3.5 in terms of MPG.

If I see 20mpg with the 2.7 with 35s on the Bronco then I will be very happy.
I would expect the 2.7T Bronco with the 10R to get anywhere between 15-18 real world. However, I don't think the 2.7T will have much of a mileage penalty over the 2.3T with 10R. The 2.3T is thirsty for a four pot.
