Generally nothing official happens with a car sale until said car is in the condition is it to be in for the sale. Even like mudflaps and whatnot, if its part of the deal it has to be on there before the vehicle is sold.

Well, not exactly the same thing but when I optioned my two door I selected the mesh top. I picked up my Bronco flour weeks before the top arrived at the dealer. It was an option listed on the window sticker.

Correct ... Dealer Installed Option (DIO) vs factory installed.


As someone else stated, no Broncos shipped with a soft top and waited for the hard top to catch up. Damn near everybody who was hard core for the MIC would have jumped on that.
I remember a LOT of folks pleading with Ford to do exactly that in order to get their rigs that much sooner.


Side note: I think even the tow package is now 100% DIO as well.

If it’s a standard MIC top, I’ll pass. Ford forced tens of thousands of order holders to change from the MOD top MY21 through MY23. A golden ticket for a MOD top for those with a reservation would go a long way to building some good will. Probably the only way I get a hard top is to just go get a new Bronco. I’m happy that Ford seems to have the top game back under control.

I went the wrap route, and so far, it's held up well. If you take the front panels off, I would recommend having a piece of protective cloth to store between them when you put them in their storage pouch/case, so they don't rub or bounce against each other, particularly when off-roading. Rocks don't really hit the roof, so that's basically the only thing to be aware of.

Major points....Sometime in March, through Ford Performance, limited availability (no idea if that's total or actual on-hand), ship to e-commerce accessory dealer or home (+ super salty freight charge), $4,995.00 + $300.00 if you want dealer installed.

I know nothing else outside what's in the attachment.

If it's the same junk top so everyone else is stuck with no thanks for that kind of $$$$$$! So far I'm happy with my soft top. I'm sure someone will come along with a quality made top

The irony of this announcement literally days after my Anderson top is ready is comedy! Considering the price + shipping the cost would be a wash for me so I’ll stick with Anderson. Plus it doesn’t say if it’s MIC or MOD so I will assume MIC

I hope everyone trying to get one gets a golden ticket!

I installed my Anderson top last weekend. Took it to show off to my salesman. He was comparing it to a HT version they have for sale. Even he commented on how the Anderson is so much better looking and better built than the OEM. You will not be sorry.
