Driven both motors. Went with the 2.3 in my Bronco. Was originally going with 2.7. Changed order once the 2.7 failures started occurring. Honestly, I never give the performance of the motor a thought. BTW, I am one of the dinosaurs that wishes there was a small block V8 option. Not so much for power but for longevity.

My only requirement was the manual transmission, so the 2.3 is great! It is plenty powerful and I'm not towing anything anyway. I haven't even installed the SprintBooster I've had waiting which I'm sure will liven it up even more.

No regrets getting the Manual transmission Bronco. If there wasn’t a Manual transmission Bronco, I wouldn’t be here. If the Manual transmission Bronco came with the 2.7, I would have gone with the 2.7 but the 2.3 s no slouch and I will guess it will be peppy with the FP tune if it ever gets released.

Not one regret. My 2.7 f150 was overpowered.
A 2.7 F-150 is not over powered by any stretch. At least not when towing a 8,000lb trailer and a weekend worth of camping gear. You’re not even towing a 25’ boat with that rig.

I never once considered the 2.3 even when the 2.7s were having the valve issues.

For me, I knew that a loaded up 4 door on 35s with full skids, rails, bumpers, winch, and gear needed that v6 :)

@AB+ the Sasquatch gearing is likely all the difference here. I wouldn't worry about it. Add my voice to the chorus singing praises for the 2.3 + 7M, not that that means much to you in an OBX.
