But only black painted roof, not body color.
Right, but the OBX does not come with a body colored top in either 2 or 4 door:

  • Soft Top (4-Door)
  • Hard Top (2-Door) Molded-in-Color Carbonized Gray
You have to get to the Big Bend through Badlands to have the optional body colored top. So the cost difference still stands. The WildTrak comes with a Shadow Black Painted Hard top vs. The molded plastic gray vs. soft top. Definitely a cost difference that plays in to the pricing difference from the OBX to the WildTrak. Just guessing but i'm thinking the Painted Hardtop is gonna be between a $1000-$1299. Jeeps cheapest hard top upgrade from a soft top is $1295 on their configurator. Doubt the Bronco will be much cheaper with the parity in pricing between the vehicles.

Price check based on FE vs Badlands:

FE 2dr 59305

I think @rtaylor is in the ballpark and using his pricing, my perfect build would be a total of $56,560. It’s a lot (ugh) but this would pretty much be the FE without the Lux package stuff, safari bar and graphics for around $6k less.

Badlands 4 Dr - $44,590
Sasquatch - $1,995
Mid and High Package - $4,495
2.7L and Auto - $2,990
Painted Top - $995
Leather seats - $1,495

My exact build that I want.

Will I wince at the price? Sure.

Will I save enough to put down ~75%? Sure.

Will I get great use out of this vehicle for 10+ years? You bet I will.

Brilliant analysis - there is a lot to cover, to much for me to begin. But since you jumped in with the hard part, I can wonder if you didn't overlook the magic electric transfer case that starts above the Black Diamond. I would drop the rear axle lock to $500., the front has bigger rings and the case goes from Aluminum to iron (?). I am personally hoping some of that transfer case cost comes out of your engine and transmission upgrades - someone checked the Ranger upgrade and it came in lower. I would guess that you nailed the rolling stock.

Again, this is great work, I love the Badlands to FE build ending in confirming zero. My money is on you to win this.

OBX doesn’t come with a hard top for those comparing trims. You have to pay for a hard top.

it’s my understanding that a painted hardtop is available for OBX (in body color)...and hopefully white is available as well based on leaked images

Maybe I missed part of the conversation, but I think the body colored top is available in the OBX. OBX is between BB and BL.

It is available as an option, not part of the base price. They were trying to come up with package and option prices by comparing trims.

true, but the base engine F150 isnt a 4 banger. its an N/A V6, hence the premium is only $995 to go from a v6, to a turbocharged v6.

There will be plenty of people that simply wont want a 4 cylinder engine on the Bronco, and Ford sure as hell isnt going to charge a measly $995. They could easily charge double, or triple (if i factor in cost of going from manual to auto).

not tryna bash anyone or anything like that, but there’s no way i’m paying 5k for the sasq package. that’s going up to trims in my opinion but more power to the folks who can afford that, it looks really cool.
