I too would like to enjoy the comforts of Remote Start with my 7MT BL Mid (still waiting). But I can understand why Ford would be against providing Remote Start if the vehicle had a MT.

Does the Parking Brake automatically engage when the MT Bronco's engine is turned off? This introduces other inconvenient issues, but could be a smart safety feature. I once found my MT Ranger sitting in the neighbor's yard... evidently I neglected to engage parking brake the night before. Luckily only his grass was inconvenienced. It was a learning moment.
No, don't think so.
Neither does the parking brake or even P apply with the AT when shutting off the engine.

Coming from 12 years of driving a BMW (and still have one) that just hit the off button and jump out, car is smart enough to engage park. But I found out quickly that shutting off the Bronco does nothing other than shut off engine. Probably due to difference in mechanical and electrical connection of shifter to transmission

My Bronco has an automatic because Ford wouldn't let me order a manual transmission with a Base Sasquatch. My Mustang has a manual transmission.

Still, I can't see a circumstance where I would want to remotely start my vehicle. How hard is it to go out and start the thing? It takes what, 30 seconds?
I held out because I couldnt get a mansquatch. Was REALLY hoping for a v6 stick, but oh well.

I thought there were after market solutions, but if states made this illegal, probably not. Too many dumbos out there and too many lawsuit hungry lawyers suing for irrational amounts of money make these things go away for all of us.

First time for me to have remote start, love it, use it every morning. There's no security issue, you can't open the doors, you can't drive the car until someone with key is IN the car and hits start again. Only thing on is the engine and the heating (or cooling). A nice warm seat, warm steering wheel and mostly defogged windows is sure a treat every morning :)

You have to lock Bronco before remote start will work
Yeah I understand how it works, my question was more of what’s the reservation with leaving the vehicle idling unattended. I was also referring to those without remote start can go start their vehicle manually, then lock it if their concern was theft. If theft is the concern, the vehicle can still be locked while idling regardless if you do or don’t have remote start.

While I am in the Manual camp, I do not understand remote start. The idea of leaving a running car alone does not sit well with me. Yeah the thing can be 150 degrees in the shade some days but I still don't want to be running around my house getting ready to leave with a running car idling outside. Sorry, you are on your own OP.
I personally wouldn't use remote start to cool a car in the summer heat either. I live in Michigan, and cold winter is when it comes in handy for defrosting your windows. You can always scrape the frost/snow/ice off your window by hand but its pretty common to still need warm dry air from your HVAC to clear the fog that forms when you start driving.

A running locked car with keys in the ignition , the person wanting to steal the car, glass windows aren't going to slow them down.

You don’t have to leave keys in the car is my point. If it’s push button the keys can be taken out and it’ll still idle. If you have a physical then yes, that would be difficult

Can't get mid package with manual transmission on Big Bend or Black Diamond, if you want the anything more than the standard package with a manual you have to move up to Badland.

You could start your car from your table at a restaurant while the bill is being paid so it will toasty warm for your wife who wore a dress on a winter day to look nice for you. You could start the car in the parking from your 3rd floor office while your shutting down your computer and wrapping everything up for the day. You could trick your 3 year old into thinking your new car is a sentient robot that started itself up by clicking the remote while its in your pocket.

These are just a few of the remote start fantasies I have.

Sometimes it best to look at people's locations, to understand why they have the views that they do. It was -23 below when I got off work two days ago, and -20 the day before that, -11 below tonight, -19/-23 Monday/Tuesday. A lot of people think it's cold if it drops below freezing.

I'm with you. I support the Manual cause, but remote start is not my hill to die on. Cooled seats! Now, that's the hill to die on.
