Snow has finally melted enough to make it to Buck Island. ( Can’t confirmed anything past that, rumor has it you can make it to Tahoe) But be aware the trail is wet and muddy. Typically busy weekend with slippery conditions causing a lot of broken vehicles, axles and drivelines mainly.

Ford Bronco Rubicon Trail is now passable. 686D17A8-561E-45AD-95DC-CE18D9377A92

Hoping for a trip there next year. Would you thing September would be a good time to go? If not, what is the best time. Trying to avoid crowdedness.

September the weather is great, just check online if there is any big events scheduled. Even with traffic it still enjoyable

After Labor Day is the best time for sure. Warm days and pleasant but cool nights. Plus the crowds are way down. Only issues that time of year will be possible wildfires and probable campfire bans.

I'm jealous, I did chores all weekend. How many broken rigs did you see? That jeep looks like the standard c-clip failure?
It was a last minute trip.
A clean FJ40 took a hard flop on its side
2 Toyotas on 60’s being towed out with broken drive lines. A few new wranglers limping out with broken fronts, and then that poor wrangler broke on the stair steps on the slabs. I was only on the trail Sunday can’t say what happened Saturday. To much throttle is my guess with wet rocks.

Hope you had a good fathers day, always fun to see what people destroy on the trail. How far in did you go?

It was a good Father’s Day trip. Turned around at Ellis creek due to going against the flow of traffic. Sunday afternoon everyone is heading back out to Loon.

Great pics, and nice to see the FJ40 gettin' it done!

Edit: OH NO, it ended up on it's side :(

The FJ40 was fairly stock, besides being spring over on 35”. I hate seeing vintage iron take any damage, but he wasn’t afraid to tackle big rocks.
