I was able to get a First Edition reservation. Do people think I shouldn't pass that up if I can get one based on resale value? I really like the Badlands or Black Diamond and plus you can A plan those. Thoughts?

Nope. Will hold value more so than the others. Especially Lightning Blue with black interior. Even though residuals in a prior thread looked low.

I have two FE reservations and getting both.

If you don’t want it don’t get it. If you like the features, colors, and cost of other trims you should change.

I plan on keeping one of the FEs for life. Not sure which will decide after I have them.

Seriously doubt resale value is going to be worth that much. It’s a sticker package. Get the one you want. 👍

I'd get what you want. Unless you have your heart set on lightning blue, FE is a Squatched/Lux Badlands.

For people who think FE's will hold their value better, how much better than a loaded Badlands do you really think it's going to be? Ford is already teasing more highly sought after trims for 22/23 (Heritage and Warthog) the FE is just an appearance package.

The resale value is going to be similar among all trims. The FE has value if:
1) It’s what you want
2) You are going to immediately flip for a large profit
3) If you are going to mothball it for decades
Otherwise get the trim that excites you.

New vehicles, and even the Bronco should never be bought considering the resale value. They just aren't that good of an investment. Go ahead, and get that FE. You'll be sorry if you don't. The only reason I can think of for not getting the FE is if your budget will feel better getting one with a lower MSRP.

I'd get it. 80% of Broncos will be BDs, having something more unique will make it that much more special. If not for resale, then for you personally. I know I take value in having something more unique than the next guy. You will envy a FE if you pull up next to one in your BD knowing you were on the list for one... Just my 2 cents obviously

I think in the long run the navy interior will hold more value. It may seem ugly now but it will be cool later. Just like the limited interiors of other cars. Either way, don’t buy it expecting to recoup your costs. The lease curve from Ford shows the higher trims will likely depreciate the most.
