Seems like an odd place for it to wear through like that. Doesn't look like a place wear it rubs on anything. Do you have pictures with the top down in different positions? To see if it might be rubbing somewhere else.

Hereā€™s to hoping the aftermarket can correct this, Iā€™m thinking Ford is probably more concerned with the MIC top at the moment and will have the dealers solution be a patch kit, like the ones my Mom would sow on the knees of my jeans in the 80ā€™s
Great idea! Or, make them like Sears Toughskins! My mom made me wear these in elementary school. Like four layers of built in knee patches. Awful jeans. But they came with a guarantee. If the knees wear out before the rest of the jeans, Sears would replace them free!

(of course, look what happened to Sears)

Starting to think the lease route might be the safe bet. If itā€™s problematic just turn it back in in 3 years time

Gosh! It's like every week now something wrong with the new Bronco is being reported. If it was happening out of warranty it would be a bank account buster. I'm going to hold off buying one until all the kinks are worked out. If I have to wait till the 2023 model, so be it.
Because a few people posting on this forum have had issues with a NEW model? Youā€™re probably best to hold off until 3 or 4 years from now if you canā€™t handle some bugs.

also, @Berwolf you might want to tag Ford in your original post. it sounds like they've been doing a decent job to address some of these things that are cropping up

Anyone else thinking Ford wishes they had an integral, metal roof option????
Yep, this Ranger Convertible is becoming quite the mess. I would have reserved a Ranger Wagon (fixed roof), but over the past year the allure of care-free driving with the top down has gotten me excited about owning a convertible.
All these issues remind me why I prefer wagons. How long before the majority of roofs start leaking?

Nah. The roof has to come off. Otherwise it's just a less reliable 4Runner. I'd get a Jeep instead, and I'm sure plenty of others would as well.
LOL, "less reliable 4Runner" when compared to a Jeep or Ford?

Not sure why my comment was deleted but letā€™s say it a different way: Maybe itā€™s time to to sell. (Youā€™d make some easy cash).

These soft tops look like a after thought by Ford. Like the lady down the block that sews canvas tents made them.
Very saggy, windows ripple, rubbing, fraying, along with that baby buggy look when open. Sick.

Yah, I bet they will look a little better after a year or two. Makes the MIC top problems minor in comparison.

100%. Ford knows what itā€™s doing and doesnā€™t regret their choice one bit. They went after a specific market because their marketing and business approach was smart. Theyā€™re not just selling to Bronco fanboys, Iā€™d buy a Wrangler before I bought a fixed top Bronco.
