You could also power it though the delayed accessory circuit shown here.
I plan on running a 12 gauge fused circuit directly from the battery to a relay triggered from the delayed accessory circuit. The power feed will also have a noise suppressor after the relay.
I'll be powering both a HAM and GMRS radio from that feed. Both crammed underneath the center console.
The Midland MTX 575 will accept a cooling fan. There is a blank plate on the back of the radio for a fan. I plan on using a 5volt fan and powering it off the USB C port on the front of the radio.
As I'm modifying my MTX 575 I'll document, take photos and start a thread on the installation
