I hadmine replaced in April after dealer was able to replicate it, took a while to get the tailgate but the service dude Knew their paint guys would do the best job and had it painted at a local body shop. Paint matched up well and had a tailgate support installed the same day to avoid It happening again.

quiet inside again!

Hinges . . . Latches . . . Internals . . . The whole F'ing gate? Color me a dumbass, but I never saw that coming. I guess it's one way to keep anyone that's done stuff to thier gates away from . . . the gates.

I could see it now . . . Fix "Paint and install Raptor Hinges" probably more cost effective, but there'd be people lined up for blocks with tailgates that dont rattle for that solution.

I was going to install a strengthening plate on my tailgate this weekend. Good timing! Now I'll wait until this gets done.
My build week is in the middle of June. Even though I have no plans to go above the stock 35" tires, I plan to order the Hammer Built tailgate reinforcement kit. Peace of mind and it looks great! They also have some nice accessory mounts.

Also, some vibration dampening wouldn't hurt either. Seems like Ford tried so hard to get the weight down that they missed out the basics. Just imagine if they did a factory Dynamat package. So easy to install before the trim pieces are in place.

For those asking , I have tracked every non-acceptable rattle/squeak down.

The "water bottle" squeak is the tailgate rubbing on the rubber seal of your MIC Top Glass. This is eliminated entirely by running a piece of felt along the top of the tailgate.

The sound this TSB is addressing sounds like a newtons cradle from inside the tailgate. Distinct metal on metal contact/popping.

Due to the nuclear level fix from Ford, I'm convinced its a failed weld.
For them to replace the tailgate, it has to be a weld issue.

I just called mine today, has been in the shop for almost a month (pinion seal issue too) they said they’re gonna replace my hinges on Monday, I guess we’ll see.
