You should be able to use 1/2 of this repair buckle, install it on the strap above the current buckle, and connect it to the existing lower mate, thereby pulling an inch or so of slack. This way you don't have to cut anything to give it a shot. This is what I am trying once I get my Bronco.

Big improvement. I just wish they had used thick windows like BesTop uses...it would improve the look big time....I don't think many would mind giving up that little tilt feature for straight good looking windows.
I donā€™t know, ducking under that top to get something is a major pain. I would miss that feature, I use it all of the time. Iā€™m afraid repeated use with it tight (which looks great BTW) would tear a stitch or something.

The best temporary fix to this is to take the top off.

Change the angle of the camera? Still looks sloppy to me šŸ¤·
Yeah, I agree with you. Looks to me like very little improvement. I couldnā€™t see much improvement even in the video. I do think his idea of using a butt connector is very clever, just not all that effective.

It still pops up fine. Watch the vid.

I donā€™t find it an issueā€¦I donā€™t ever look through it while driving. Also, I kinda have fun having the top all buttoned up and then putting the fan on highā€¦poof, wavy window gone as seen through side mirrors. Then, for more fun, hit your recycle air button and watch the window ā€œdeflateā€ right before your eyes. Rinse, repeat for extended drives.

Ha! Thatā€™s actually my IG account in the original post. My plan was to see if sewing them tighter would be a solution. BUT I wanted to see what colder winter months would do to the plastics. Iā€™m assuming theyā€™re saggy for a reason. I donā€™t want to rip any seams.

But, it does help a decent amount. Iā€™ll take a better side shot to match the original photo. It DOES NOT hinder the lifting of the cargo area at all. Not sure why it would.

Has anyone figured out how to remove the Ford tilt feature? Then just fix the windows like this and be done?

Who am I kidding, my biggest complaint outside of the window appearance, is the giant scissor-style brackets/frame that lay back there clanking around when off-roading vs the open sides of the bestop trektop.

I was able to tighten my rear softop windows a bit by just twisting each top fastner (male side) a full 360 degrees prior to being fastened, which had the effect of decreasing the fastner's overall length.

This method might strain or wear the strap of the fastner, but I found it worthwhile.

The results make it less wavy than normal, however, it does not eliminate the wave entirely.

Overall, I'm more satisfied with the look of my softop now.

I have an extra set of side windows that I was planning to test out sewing the buckles taught. Iā€™ll report back.
