That is completely untrue. Maybe someone from the floor can help at the cashier stand, but they only allow their techs to work the shop. The fact is, Costco tire installers probably have far more experience than most of the people in tire shops. They do a lot more installations per day and they tend to stick with the company longer because they are paid better and get benefits.You're fine with that tire.
Costco has some of the worst tire people, they'll even pull random people off the floor to work in tires if short handed, and they have to follow policy exactly because they have no knowledge.
Does that mean they can't make mistakes? No. But in this case, I think OP is misunderstanding the recommendation. Likely they told OP that an E Load tire is a bad option for his vehicle. This is completely true. They probably explained that it will make for a much stiffer and bumpier ride and that in order to alleviate that stiffness, the tires might have to be aired down to a point where they could overheat. That is probably subject to some interpretation, as E load tires can be aired down somewhat. But the underlying takeaway is that a C load tire is a much better option.
