You're fine with that tire.

Costco has some of the worst tire people, they'll even pull random people off the floor to work in tires if short handed, and they have to follow policy exactly because they have no knowledge.
That is completely untrue. Maybe someone from the floor can help at the cashier stand, but they only allow their techs to work the shop. The fact is, Costco tire installers probably have far more experience than most of the people in tire shops. They do a lot more installations per day and they tend to stick with the company longer because they are paid better and get benefits.

Does that mean they can't make mistakes? No. But in this case, I think OP is misunderstanding the recommendation. Likely they told OP that an E Load tire is a bad option for his vehicle. This is completely true. They probably explained that it will make for a much stiffer and bumpier ride and that in order to alleviate that stiffness, the tires might have to be aired down to a point where they could overheat. That is probably subject to some interpretation, as E load tires can be aired down somewhat. But the underlying takeaway is that a C load tire is a much better option.

The only bad thing about Discount Tire is they are not discount at all.
I got a nice deal from Discount Tire this week on a set of BF Goodrich tires for my sports car. As usual, it's worth looking at the deals and rebates offered at any given time. Discount Tire has been having $110 instant off on certain tire sets lately, and I was fortunate the tire version I wanted was eligible for the offer.

Keep an eye out around Memorial and Labor Day, in the past I've gotten some very nice deals from various tire retailers, they tend to have some of the best sales which can sometimes be combined with rebates around those dates.

I've had some bad luck recently getting tires mounted/balanced properly though, so that's going to be a chore. You don't know who will be working on your vehicle and their skill level at various shops. That's when it's great to "know a guy" at a shop who knows what he's doing and takes care not to scratch up the wheels.

Costco often won't install a non-factory tire size. I go to Discount Tire for non-OEM tire sizes, but with a Costco quote in-hand so they'll match the Costco price. Best of both worlds!

I think you have a good combo with what you are planning. I'd run that wheel and those tires. The 0 offset makes the car more stable since it is a wider stance which will help since you went with bigger tires. If you ever have to take a tight turn at high speed you will be thankful for the 0 offset vs stock...
Load E is built sturdier as well...but also heavier. There are advantages and drawbacks to C vs E load range. If you dont want to worry about nails go E...If you want better mileage go C.

Maybe it varies by store then, because I got that info straight from a Costco tire tech.

Heyy all i need help, i just pick up my 285/75r16 bf goodrich ko2 tire yesterday from Costco, heard they have good tire services, but they wont installed the tire for me, said that tire is not for bronco is Load E, i should have Load C.
they said i need do reprogram with the computer from the dealer store. and tire will be overheat and exploed or something, and made me very sad.

please does 285/75r16 really fit on base bronco ? i have baby coming soon i dont really want have any safty issue about that, please someone give me a adivice.
Coscto has some very specific rules on this. Ran into this on my Jeep years back. Even with a lift they would only install the same size tires it rolled off the factory floor with due to what they said is legal and insurance reasons because how how they warrantee all work. Just need to go to any other shop.

any good recommendation
I had excellent luck with the specialty modifications guy at my dealer. Not all dealers will have one, but he sold me KO2 tires, Fuel Rims and a leveling kit for $50 over the best price I could find anywhere else. The $50 was worth it to me to avoid any finger pointing if anything didn't work or fit right. If you trust your dealer, which I did, it is a good way to go.

By the way, Discount Tires has rim width of 7-10" for 287/75/16, and I know that's not the manufacturers data:

Yeah I noticed that as well, Discount Tire shows 7.0"-10.0" for the 285/75R16 KO. But the BFG site for same sized KO shows 7.5"-9".

That said, a lot of 4x4 people I know used to run 33x12.5" tires on 8 inch wheels with no issue. I think 7" wheel would be fine for a 285/75R16.

My tires or some very similar were almost 150 bucks more. YMMV

You did what?!? You are asking an outdated simple word generating chat bot AI about what tires and wheels to put on your 40K+ new vehicle? Take it to an offroad specialist shop if you have this little experience.
The moment you know OP is trolling ...
10/10 just for the chat/gpt comment originality.

I ran E rated tires on my Expy at 80 PSI. Got tired of flat tires due to twigs and cholla spines; E-rates fixed that.

Handled better around turns at higher pressure as well.

I took mine to Ford dealer. That way no warranty issues etc if they installed them. They were near the same price as other dealers.
