UGH! MIC Top cracking

So all my parts arrived for the new hard top, but no headliner. They realized they have to order the headliner separately.

My question is can the headliner be installed with the top on the vehicle, or does the top need to be off the vehicle for installation?

Did you just get a new rear cap? I'd wager they'll install with the cap on. And I'd actually be more worried about them removing it and flipping it upside down to stick on a headliner given how flimsy these tops are to begin with. If you also got new front and mid panels, I'm sure they'll remove those to install the headliner on them.

Joining the party. only 1600 miles on my ’24 bronco and it has a crack under the driver rear window.

Edit: just checked the passenger side has cracks also and the driver side has gotten worse in 1 day.

I just passed 36k miles so now I'm really worried about my top :/

I hate hearing about these issues with the hard top. I wanna stay on top of these things as I pass 25K miles, but sometimes I feel if I read enough about this... my Bronc will get, "infected" with the MIC cracktop disease... so I read these posts carefully, like....

Just got the call that my rear top has been approved for replacement. Went to the dealership and walked through what they needed to order:

Rear hardtop with sound deadening headliner, front a rear weatherstripping etc.

They are also replacing my back glass entirely because the defroster clip fell off. They’ll be using a glass shop to transfer the side glass to the new top

hoping all the parts come in some time next week

Mine just did this today — right rear clip disconnected. So, they can’t just solder it back on?

Just a quick update……..last week dealership told me I needed to make an appointment so it could be documented and written up by a tech. Brought it in expecting to leave it, the service advisor said he just needed to go take some pictures, and that’s it, told me he would call me. Later this afternoon he called and said my new top would be here in 1-2 weeks. So far so good!

Tracked it on the app, it’s at the dealership back from the glass shop, should get a call today

It definitely just recently split open but you could tell it was definitely very thin on the end. Sadly it has sat in my garage in storage more than it has been on the bronco. I keep the soft top on for most of the year. I definitely need to take it in soon Im way under in miles but my 3 years is up in April of 25.

They are replacing the retractor, top is done but I have to wait another week for the part

I’m joining the cracked top club. Bought my 23 Badlands brand new 2 months ago and noticed these cracks after washing it. Mine are above the rear window and the top has never been off. So frustrating to have this happen to a new vehicle.

I know there aren't nearly as many out there, but is anyone seen or heard of cracking issues with the shadow black painted tops?

Any chance Ford moves off of these tops for ‘25 and just goes with something similar to what Jeep uses for their hardtop construction?
