Man that's a bummer. So much for me holding onto the notion that the 2.3 engine is bullet proof. Did your dealer give any more information other than "the engine failed" ?
They said there was metal in the oil and so the engine will be replaced under warranty.

It still turns over and seems to run fine. The tow truck driver drove it onto the tow truck. Hopefully nothing major but concerning nonetheless.
Tow company owes Ford an engine.

NeVAr drive a vehicle without oil pressure.

Or, driver ruined it. Don't drive without oil pressure.

Of course it's got metal in it. A little oil pump issue gives a warning light. Shut it down!

Issue may not be 'blown engine'. Maybe this thread should be:

If a Bronco drives with the light on for low oil pressure, it means there is low oil pressure, which could ruin the engine. This becomes ruined engine when run with the light on.

Why is there a warning light?

Why bother towing it, if he's going to start and drive it?

Hi there. Will you send us a message with your VIN and Ford dealership info? I can take a look into things about your Bronco on my end.
How come the 2.7 guys aren't getting this comment?

Might be better off with a factory new engine than letting the dealer guess and tear it down To find the low pressure issue, It is under warranty..

On one hand, the damage was likely already done and it’s under warranty so no big deal.

On the other, I’d be irritated that the driver was too lazy to use his rollback and if it was out of warranty I’d be pissed that they could have made it worse.
