I can see the same pattern showing through on mine, although not as bad. But it also has not been in the sun much.

On the other hand, I have another small section that is obviously delaminated from the top core. Meaning the outer layer is separated from the honeycomb. When I tap it it has an obvious hollow sound, unlike the rest of the top. Similar to tapping on floor tiles, the ones that do not have best thinset bond have a different sound.
Well, obviously you didn't wax it. If you want the full effect of the new honeycomb look you gotta wax and buff the shit out of it.

Also happens when you give engineering problems to project managers.
To be fair, as a project manager (govt) I always refer to my SME engineers with the knowledge. But I can tell you, shitty acquisitions happen in all sectors.

Point is, all these fellow forum members saying a coating caused this is absolutely unbelieveable .... and if it is the case, Ford definitely needs to be made aware because the fragile POS won't make it through a single Arizona summer or a midwest freeze thaw cycle ...coating or not.
On the jeep forums they'd be looking at the post history and calling them a troll. Thankfully we haven't gotten that far here... Yet.

The seam on the top section of the roof is uncoated too.

Your tapping is actually part of the pre-flight on a composite airplane. Hollow sound=no flying.

Textured plastic isn’t made to be waxed. It is porous, and you have wax trapped in the pores highlighting the honeycomb structure under the surface. You haven’t damaged the roof, but you marred the appearance of the roof by waxing it. You will need to consult someone on what product you can safely use to draw that wax out.

Nope, still hate the idea. I'll take a honeycombed split edged removable top over a flawless fixed roof every single time.
I'm just the opposite. I'd take the non removable roof all day. Doors off a bunch, top will never be off for me.

The product he used says it’s ok on rubber and plastic trim.
