Replaced the front brakes on the Escape last weekend. $75.......but, noticed the CV joint boot is separated from half shaft. $$$. :( Better than the alternative while waiting.

The Lexus that is supposed to be my DD is sitting on jack stands in my driveway. I suppose I knew what I was getting into. $500 cars are $500 for a reason.

I always look at an old car in what it's costing me monthly, if I'm spending more in maintenance than a decent new payment then I'll usually get rid of it unless it's something special.

every time a new vehicle is being introduced to the family stable, the one that your dependent on as a daily driver need's another $900.00 bucks in repair?

2000 Excursion A/C pumped out the coldest air until yesterday and the E-Brake release snapped a cable.

SMH

C'mon FORD let's get these things built.
I worked in the Excursion body shop at Ford from the beginning till the end. Those were a beast of a vehicle. One of the most profitable vehicles Ford made cause it was on the Super Duty frame and used most of the same parts. Stopped making it because they were doing a big model change on the Super Duty and probably a little to do with emissions and mpg.

+1 for this thread. I was going to hold out for the bronco... but I couldn’t bet on my current ride lasting without some needed repairs. Just dropped $1300 on my Fusion today. Nice to know others share my pain.

Pulling a valve cover on my ‘03 excursion in the morning... may not stop until the timing cover is off... sounds like a loose chain... it’ll probably be a damn wrist pin 🤷‍♂️
