$1,000 to replace OEM glass and calibrate the driver aids is not unheard of anymore.

You can go with aftermarket glass, but that can be hit or miss.

OEM glass? Or aftermarket?
I've personally never had a problem with aftermarket glass on my GTI (I've gone through about 3 and all were replaced by Safelite - but no technology in the GTI so it is just pop out and pop in).
After two years, finally got a little chip on the Bronco. I'm not even going to do anything about it right now, but just curious as to peoples experience with aftermarket.
Aftermarket, but it was perfect for the Bronco and the company stood by it when only a month later it cracked from a rock impact. $150 labor to replace under the warranty.

Can't recommend Glass Doctor in San Angelo, Texas highly enough. They were awesome.

I just had mine replaced on Friday at Safelite.
It was $668 including the recalibration.

...Edit: I also ordered the ExoShield Ultra kit to see if that helps. Just waiting for a couple nice days to install it.
Good call on the ExoShield. I put that on mine after breaking the glass in the first 3k miles. 20k later I have some chips in the Shield from some good projectiles, but the glass is unharmed and I have not had to mess with glass shops, calibration, or insurance at all.
