Yep, I had even forgotten even though I see them every day. I got the Ford Platinum . They serve no purpose merely decorative. Full coverage plastic would have been better.

Same, i have scuff marks all around the placard. Looks real nice, but offers no real protection.

Stubby antenna?

I don't know about you, but I like my stubby. Way more than the metal wire one, at least. But I don't listen to AM/FM radio so I didn't really need it.

Front plate mounts. All of them (including OEM) just look like an afterthought.

I like mine now that they're bashed in to the skid plate. Very aerodynamic, IMO.

Not trying to incite, but I'm genuinely curious what safety metric are you gaining for AM/FM reception. As far as I know, the stock antenna is only for the radio head unit. Did you rewire the antenna to a radio that you can transmit a call? I'm not questioning the need for other radios whether just to communicate with others in a group or to call for help.

If they ever use AM/FM broadcast for anything emergency related we are all F'd anyways... I get weather sometimes, but most that need that usually have something dedicated for it.

AM FM is for contacting sponge bob on the moon. User 604 bronco got it right.

I've said it before...antenna long or short, the Bronco sound system is perfectly fit for the AM frequency.
