For me, that's what it's all about - just creepin' along. Arguably more important in a manual than an auto. I've seen these double Toyotas with ratios well over 200:1 and a triple truck with a 580:1 that you could start in gear and watch it inch along at idle.
Crawl in 4-LO is slow, but these guys are slower than some glaciers.
I've also wondered whether we could just get a deeper single reduction inside the current case.
My Bronco goes at a walking pace when geared all the way down. But I can see situations where that could be too fast, for example creeping over a large boulder.

Yeah, going uphill 4L and C is not bad. Going downhill, though, on those steep drop offs, I would love another reduction down just to make it that much slower and for control. Can’t touch the clutch or you go flying downhill, and already riding the brake like it’s my only life line right at the edge of killing the engine… once you drop over the edge it’s all just Jesus Take The Wheel

Yeah. Me too. Maybe I’m just a giant chicken, but the downhill drops are what scare me to death. I’ll go crawling up stuff at crazy angles with rocks and ledges and off camber and whatever and giggle the whole way up, but the coming back down off those same drops makes me white knuckle the steering wheel and question my sanity.

Just make sure you never have to back down one with a flat tire. It can really focus your attention. :) Fortunately I was on what was called a road.

Looks like I can't post a pin... Oh well... 🤷‍♂️

Here's the location, latitude and longitude:
33.64378693622775, -111.80981437956952

I just started a thread under trip reports and journals about sharing locations between google maps and google earth.

Speaking of the transfer case-

We can possibly rule out the clutch as the primary culprit of the issues we were having. Wifey had it happen again while in 2WD after climbing a steep hill on the interstate. Started thinking it was simply a heat issue when working hard, possibly from the full belly skids? But, nobody else with full belly skids seems to be having that problem, and it has since happened two more times while in 2WD on relatively flat roads. (On a side note, we can now confirm that Forscan Lite with iOS can clear codes, so that will be nice for wheeling compared to lugging a computer around) After that, was starting to think maybe this was an issue related to the fire, but then saw similar problems with other cars too. So...we bought her another 2024 Wildtrak and will be swapping all the other parts over to it. Start fresh, just in case. Will also put that modified clutch in there. See how much of a difference it makes with 4A. Because...science, bitch.

Yip. Third Bronco already bought and paid for. Waiting for us to get back to start swapping out.
Go update your build thread so we keep that dumpster fire in one spot.

It will be getting some improvements when we do the swap. Shock towers up front will be extended to lower it an inch but accommodate longer travel coilovers. Downtravel will stay the same but we'll take advantage of the additional clearance from the portals pushing the tires down and get the tires tucked up closer to the fenders. Going to move the lower links out on the axle and also use them as trailing arms. See if we can get enough angle to reduce lateral movement of the axle, but also extend the arm length to 32" to see if the lowered antisquat helps with the portal hop at all. @87-Z28 has been helping with the numbers and so far on paper it looks like we should have some good results from this setup on the back.

Have you checked out Vasher Designs VX Offroad rear trailing arms/suspension?
