I have done this a couple times in the last year. Sometimes the funds are not there and you have to push the envelope. I have also left home with 220 miles to empty, driven 120 miles, and still had just under 200 miles to empty when I arrived. My commute to work is .7 miles so it throws my mileage off.

Reads 0 miles to empty no matter how far you drive on empty; can also make it go back up if you coast well enough, that’s a fun game to play

Youtube algorithm hit me with a video the other day where a guy intentionally ran it out of fuel as a test to see how far beyond 0 he could go.
Ended up driving about 40 miles extra over 2 hours I think.

My wife pulled out of the house with her gauge reading 8 miles the other day to get fuel at costco that is roughly 12 miles away. I was stressed but we ended up making it with no problem.

I typically only fill up when it gets below 5. I have pulled into gas stations several times on 1's and once on 0. Drives my wifes nuts. Not my Bronco but my F150:

On a single trip back from Off-Rodeo, I had the fuel light come on twice! There are stretches of I-20 that have long stretches of road between fuel stations.

Now, I just plan on fueling up at 1/2 and at all restroom stops during long trips.
