The point of this thread is to get a baseline for everybody to be on the same page. Not everyone is going to be happy with the final product. But it is what it is.
***What we know, or at least have strong indications of being true***
Ok, so we know its all but confirmed to have IFS, a solid axle option may be in the cards somewhere but there is no promise of it.
Engine choices, we have indicators pointing at both the I4 2.3 EB and the V6 2.7 EB. We also know a hybrid is in the works.
Transmission options. Automatic for sure, and potentially a 7-speed manual.
Removable roof panels are confirmed too so thats not an argument.
****My personal opinions***
Back to the IFS vs SFA. Personally I'm fine with either. That being said, IFS is desirable for most consumers. But it would be ideal to have the SFA to build the off road reputation, that will drive salesup. So maybe a variant with a big stick up front will fix that. If not, the aftermarket will step in I'm sure.
Engine choices. Personally I would like a NA V6 or V8 option. We'll have to wait and see what happens.
Transmission options. I drive A LOT and the ease of an automatic cannot be refuted in that aspect. But many like the control of a manual for off road scenarios, and some prefer it just because.
Removable roof will be nice, but its not something I see myself utilizing a lot. But my kids would love it.
So there it is, I feel I'm in the majority of consumers with some enthusiast ideals. This is a thread to express opinions, not argue. Logical debates are encouraged. Civility is preferred. Lets have a good chat everybody. We all want this blue oval to do well, if we want parts rigs 10 years down the road.
