Anyone actually get their $100 deposit back?

Hi All - Anyone here expecting to get the refund on the initial deposit and have actually received it? The email doesn't contain any details if we should expect a check, credit on original payment method, etc...

No, they (the dealership) put it towards the purchase of my vehicle.

Never had to put a deposit down in the first place. I always thought it was odd that anyone would have to put a deposit down on a vehicle. Like they don't trust you? I've never run across this ever in my life. I guess my dealer trusts me?

Has nothing to do with trust. The $100 was for a reservation which you had to have to place an order early on.

Ok makes sense, but again I didn't have to and I asked if I had to and the dealer said no.

Mine was automatically refunded when I canceled my reservation.

It should be automatically credited towards your purchase whenever you take delivery (basically when you pay for it).

It should be pretty straightforward. If you already took delivery, look at your sales paperwork. If it's not in there as a line item, contact your dealer. Simple.

Thanks for all the comments so far but I should clarify.

I put down the $100 back when the Bronco was first announced (picking a local dealer in the process) but I ended up buying a Bronco off the lot from an out-of-state dealer. That dealer had nothing to do with my reservation.

Last month I received the email from Ford that I did not convert my reservation to an order and my reservation will be canceled and to expect a refund in the next month.

Logistically, it sounds like I may need to chase the dealer where the reservation is to actually get back my $100.

I’m due $100 for the second reservation/order that the dealer screwed up and allowed Ford to purge. They gave me the $100 on my first reservation when I bought my first Bronco and Lightning reservation at time of purchase. They are honest, although incompetent on the latest order, so I’m sure they will give me the $100 back.

Have not seen my $100 first day reservation. Got my Bronco in Oct 2021 though.
