Ford really messed up the WT with black top and the interior and that's why I changed to the BLs. Also, the BLs has more options compared to the WT. I liked the WT because it would have been a better fit for me, but Ford changed my mind for me.
I’m starting to think this was the idea

I'm maybe the only one here, but I dig the Wildtrak interior options. Wish I could get that camo in the MGV.

If you're doing the automatic transmission you should 100% do the 2.7 engine.

I think the real question you should be asking yourself is what you're going to be doing with it. Think hard on that front and you'll find your answers.

I’m in the same boat... Wanted a Wildtrak, now considering Badlands. For either my builds come out around the same cost. What I’m stuck on is:
1) Deciding my favorite interior. Neither are my favorite.
2) I kind of like the WT hood graphic. Does that make me a D-bag?
3) Biggest one: Sway bar disconnect or Sport mode.. I plan to do trails like Big Bend, do some beach, and mudding. This is also my DD.
4) Can’t decide on if I like the black accents on the WT vs gray on BL

Main points of my build are:
Area 51
2.7L
Sasquatch
Leather
Tow package
High package

No idea which I should get. Interior is a small factor to me. Can live with either. Really stuck b/w the black accents vs gray, but overall biggest for me is the sway bar disconnect. It is awesome but I’m not sure how often I’d use it. And I’m too inexperienced to know if I will need it in the future when I plan on doing these trails. I also don’t know much about the WT Sport mode, since that mode isn’t on the BL. This will be my DD and long trip traveler for family vacations to trails/sand/mudding.

Im honestly now on the side of why wouldn't you go badlands? It literally costs the same as anything else fully loaded and has more. You wont use the Swaybar? Why not have it just to have it at the same price? The only other deciding factor is interior/exterior aesthetics.

WT was perfect till Ford gave it the tan only Inter option. I still have faith ford will change that. Am I crazy to think this?

If someone really hates the WT seats, just put on some waterproof Oakley covers. I had them on my Jeep and you get to pick your color.

I’m there with you. I like the WT graphics and black out trim, trill, etc vs the gray. Not a fan of the WT interior color options. GOAT mode SPORT vs ROCK CRAWL I want sport myself. I can see that being my DD mode.

I have went between all the models at some point. Mostly I have been trying to decide if I want to go lower end then trade up in a few years when Ford gets their options and supply chain figured out.

Whining aside, I am 83% sure I will go with the Wildtrack. I live in Florida so Crawling something you have to hunt for, where as driving Baja style is pretty much what the highways are about here.

The biggest draw the badlands has for me is the interior. But the comfort options on WT outweigh the PERFECT interior of the badlands. I also really like the steel bumpers but I want them fog lights.

WT - My pluses over the BL

Active Grill Shutters - More useful for me than the sway disconnect.

Black wheels - arguably the best looking wheel.

Factory Side Steps - for my wife and small passengers. I’m 6’6” and have never used them ?‍♂

fog lamps - fog is a thing in Florida and I really just like having them.

Baja Mode - no idea what it will do but I like the sound of it.

Initially was going with a WT but since changed my mind to a BL
1. Don't like the WT interior
2. Can get bead lock in 33" and its suspension
3. Roof rack option
4. 2.7L - no Sasquatch
Going to change my badge........

I am curious why active grill shutters are a benefit?

It optimizes cooling while giving you a 6% increase in aerodynamics. The sway disconnect only benefits you when going over a large obstacle. Speed is my primary concern. If crawling was then the BL would be my option without hesitation.

It’s available on the 2dr and not the 4dr because WT is Sasquatch
