Assuming you get a base squatch quick, I don't see the issue.

If you swap and still don't get it quick, I would be pissed.

Worst case I would throw in a base squatch order with another dealer and let it ride.

No, if you’re not in a hurry, patience will pay off. I was told to take off MIC, tow, etc so that my order would get in sooner but I wouldn’t settle for less. I finally have blend date and window sticker for the exact build I want.
I'm kind of wishing I'd done this and not removed the MIC, although there are arguments for the soft top depending on where you live, IMO. If I'd have kept the MIC an tow, I'm sure I'd have gotten a build date by now regardless, but who knows. I could have waited a few more months....I let the collective anxiety of many on this board influence me.

I don't think so, but it brings up a thought I've had. That being, has anyone at the time of delivery had the dealer have a Bronco on the lot that they ended up liking more than the one he/she ordered (say a 2 door vs a 4 door) and worked out a swap before purchase.

I'd ask the dealer if they've been told to pound sand before...

Tell them you'll send them an email when you've made a decision, and be sure to tell them, " Sorry, can't give any kind of time frame of when that might be." Just too many decision constraints and only so many important decisions can be allocated per month.........

Absolutely not, I think you’ll have serious regrets if you do. I‘ve had my WT for just under a month now and can’t imagine settling for anything less. I was a 7/30/20 reservation with a small dealer and thought I was screwed until my build date popped up in March. You’ll be glad you waited.

Why was this question even posted?

It’s your order - do as you wish. However I find it hard to believe you’d be happy with a Base, when you ordered a Wildtrak. You’ll regret all the options you've missed out on, and it’ll be far more expensive to install them afterwards.

I’m surprised the salesperson didn’t ask if you’d like to swap your Wildtrak for a bicycle…

Yes, you are absolutely out of your mind.
You cannot beat the value of a Base!

I am in a similar position as i order a Wildtrak, but swung by my dealer a month ago and he had a White Base Sasquatch that buyer backed out of, so i picked it up and actually am really enjoying it....even with the soft top, so my dilemma is what to do when my Wildtrak comes in as i really like the Base Sasquatch and its simplicity..

I don't think most people here realize how little difference there is between the WT with the mid and a Base Sasquatch 2.7. You're not getting much for the extra $8k(?).

I pretty much agree.
The only reason I went base Base is because the daughter wanted to learn to drive manuals.
(No BaseManSquatch for 2021)
So far, one of her friends is interested also , so we've been giving my clutch and starter one hell of a work out!
Lol!
