Since we are talking about an ordered vehicle I Voted 50+ since there was no option for 20+ My 2007 Mustang GT was ordered and I think it had around 7 miles on it when I picked it up from the dealership.

If we were talking dealer stock I would be fine with less than 200 as sometimes they have to do a dealer transfer. When the wife got her Edge they had to get it from Michigan as it was the only one in the region that had the options she wanted without us ordering one and I think it had right around 175 miles on it when we got it since they had to drive it from Michigan to Illinois.

I bought my '13 Xterra in Januray '14 with 125 miles. It had been used for test drives etc. It was expected and I got plenty off of sticker for buying a previous model year. Dealer stock vehicles are used for this kind of stuff; test drives, salesman training drives, or off lot displays such as malls.

You're not buying dealer stock. Your Bronco is being special ordered. All of the loading onto and off of transportation and moving around the dealership for inspections should be measured in feet, not miles. I'd say less than 5 on the odometer is acceptable without justification.

My Mustang had 16 miles on it when I first saw it. I put a few more on it in a test drive before I bought it. My Escape had over 100 miles because my local dealer had to get it from another dealer to get the exact car that we wanted. I was fine with both of those.

When I bought my most recent KTM motorcycle a year ago it had 1 mile on the odometer when I took possession of it. Those come from the factory in shipping crates and there was no reason to put more miles on it, since I had specifically ordered it. It sat in the showroom for a few days and that's it.

I'll be okay with my Bronco sitting (locked) in the showroom for a few days if the dealer wants, but I'll be sure to let them know that I expect as few miles on it as possible.

I work for a Ford dealership and of any of the Ordered vehicles I wouldn't expect to have more than 10-15 miles on them. As some have stated, some companies do a test of sorts and drive one random vehicle for a few miles. But each and every Bronco will have to get a Pre delivery inspection. So it might have 4-5 miles coming off the truck, but depending on the technician they could add another 2-3 miles. I have no idea if Ford will do their little test with all of these being orders and none for stock.

Back in the 80's my uncle ordered a Escort wagon diesel. It ended up being delayed and when he went to pick it up it had about 200 miles on it. The dealership offered him some money off and told him the Feds took it for some random emissions testing. No idea if it was true or not but that thing lasted forever about 350k on it when we finally put out of it misery due to the suspension rotting away.

There's a great thread on this here

https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/thre...est-drive-orders-before-customer-pickup.3142/

And here is a brilliant idea from this thread. Sign up for the FordPass app with your VIN (once you get it). Hopefully someone will approve it and you can track your vehicle.

I ordered my 2018 Expedition in 2017 - that was completely redesigned generation and none of the dealers had them at lots.
I had my VIN way before delivery and added it to a FordPass app, looks like somebody approved my request in Sync3 during prep, so I could manage it (check mileage, tire pressure, fuel level, exact GPS location, could lock/unlock it and start the engine sitting at home on the other part of the city). When it came to the dealer it had 8km on odometer and empty fuel tank, next day was full tank of fuel and 22km on odometer.
when I came to pick it up (earlier than agreed) it was standing on the most prime location in front of the main entrance unlocked. Was tons of oily fingerprints all around.
I specifically asked no dealer stickers, test drives and show rooms.
So, the bottom line is - it is absolutely on your sales manager and his/her honesty. Expect to work hard on that since it will be brand new “iconic” vehicle with tons of quirky features.

When we bought our 1990 4 Runner it was a dealer swap from St. Albans, West Virginia to Wilmington, DE and came with 350 miles so that was OK.

Now when I was 17 years old I was working in new car prep for a Wilmington Pontiac dealer. 4 of us took a ride to Northern New Jersey on a dealer swap, we picked up four 1977 Grand Prix's to bring back. Should of seen that shit show on I-295 4 young guys with brand new cars. They didn't have computers back then to record how the car was driven.
But I took it easy.;)

I wouldn't be surprised if they had up to 50 miles on them. The transport driver has to stop every few hundred miles to let them out and run around a bit. Otherwise they can get bound up from sitting too long.

I was told that Ford randomly pulls new cars and does a quality check which involves driving it. My gen1 raptor came with 30 miles and my gen2 raptor came with 14. On my gen2 raptor I asked my dealer not to perform a PDI. Among other things a pre-delivery-inspection involves detailing a vehicle and removing all the exterior and interior protective coverings and what not.

When I picked up the my GEN2 raptor, written on the back glass was "Retest" ... not sure what that means.

My father picked up his brand new C8 yesterday. It had 4 miles on it. That's about what I expect.
4 miles or 16 quarter mile runs?

Most come in with 4-6 miles, dealer is supposed to put a couple on doing PDI, so 6 would be common. However, some come in with more, some have 10, some are picked for test drive at the plant and have 20-50, and once in a while (although very rare) we'll see 100ish miles. This could be more likely on the early build units. If they are on quality hold, they can be driven several times to move them for storage and repairs. Look at the F-150's being stored in Dearborn right now as an example.

As to the Fordpass, it won't work, vehicle will be in transport mode, that turns off all the power draws to keep them from needing jump starts.

Experience was working for Nissan for four years.

I've pulled brand new cars with the white plastic on them off the delivery truck and they're between 11-30 miles. I don't know why it's more than a couple miles as one would think but I assure you that this was the case for Nissan. I would say anything less than 50 miles should be acceptable.

No reputable dealer will allow someone else to treat drive your Bronco as it is "sold".

I know my saleman's well and he tells me the only time they drive a car is to a special holding lot if their dealership lot is full. They also drive it to get gas before delivery and that's it.

Our "special holding lot" was "just put it in the back behind some overnight service customers because they're not taking delivery until next week" ha. We had gas on site but some do not.
