Hey guys, unfortunately I stopped for fuel on Sunday and had my Bronco filled up with super unleaded. (full service station) Unknown to anyone there was a mix up when the fuel was delivered and the delivery guy put diesel in the underground tank. I only made it a half mile up the road when i lost power and got check engine light. The vehicle had to be towed into my Ford dealership. I will keep everyone updated on the repairs, the cost anything else. The Ford technician said the tank needed to be drained and filled with fresh fuel, oil changed and new spark plugs. Good thing for me, the gas station told me they will cover everything 100% towing, repairs and the fuel I purchased.

I don’t see why the plugs have to be changed. I’d think just some fuel system components.
its just good measure. nothing has to be changed at all if the truth be told. empty the tank, fill it up with gas. it will take several starting attempts to get the diesel out of the line, but once it clears, it will be all good.

It will be fine, the opposite wouldn’t be good.

Did you smell diesel when you filled it up. When you say full service does that mean they pump the gas for you? If so that would explain why you didn’t smell it.

Seemed like they had a few others before me. I didn’t know what the problem was until the ford dealer diagnosed it. It was almost 24 hours later until i got an update from ford and went to the gas station. They were very cooperative.

glad the gas station is owning up to it. this has been my biggest fear as the bronco is the only non diesel i've owed in the last 7 years even my wifes car is a diesel and she is so used to going to the green pump
Travel outside of TX and OK and there's green pumps and handles on unleaded too lol.

They would be quite fouled on diesel. Possibly cracked.

He didn’t fill it up, it was a full service station. A 1 second search would have answered your question. Full service means they fill your tank and check and fill your oil. My mother used to say “fill it up with premium” for a 1969 Charger R/T.

I did the same thing on my Dad’s tractor when I was 18. In my head (with no prior experience) all tractors ran on diesel. So I just took it across the highway and filled it up from the green pump. Made it about halfway back across the highway. They just had to drain it and clean out the lines.
