Did anyone reference this thread yet? It has to do with this subject:

https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/fake-engine-sounds-kill-or-keep.4237/
Great find! And in the very first post, it mentions that these shenanigans are nearly invisible unless you throw some high power subwoofers into the mix.. which is the exact same case here. I should've worded my post a little differently and not been so matter of fact, but it legitimately seems like this is more than just electrical interference. I've heard that in the past, and this ain't it.

Yeah, this whole issue is a bummer for folks like us who want to upgrade with aftermarket speakers, especially subs. The good news is that the MANY threads I have read about subs being installed, I can't recall anyone complaining about this issue . . . except with you and in the thread I just shared here. Sorry you are dealing with this . . .

I can't find a Bronco specific article yet, but I have definitely read that the Bronco has enhanced engine sounds via the speakers. Many car companies do it. VW does.

Ford will not say they are fake. They will say that are actual engine sounds that are enhanced. You judge whether that is weird or inauthentic or not. I personally never expected to hear awesome deep intimidating throaty engine sound from a 2.7 liter engine. Even the aftermarket exhausts for Broncos, sound like, well angry tuned Civics.

"Active Noise Control" is what they call it.

Got a good laugh from a post in one of those links:
”If you turn off the fake engine noise, does it help with the fake gas mileage?”

For specifics, and I guess it’s more than fake ass engine noise but this is from the CAN map of the Bronco. ANC (Active Noise Control) has been in use since 2015 with Ford vehicles.

ACM is the Audio Control Module and DSP is the Digital Signal Processor (B&O Amp)

Maybe if its the 2.3 Ecoboost. I know its pumped in through the speakers on the ecoboost Mustang. Not sure on the other 2.3 vehicles.

Can confirm. I've turned it off with Forscan on a 2.3 Mustang. I don't think I have it on my 2.3 Bronco though, it's pretty quiet. I could see it being a Lux only thing.

Check your connections, grounds, gains, crossovers, etc.
Engine sound? Or is is a high pitched whine through the speakers that follow engine rpms?, what guage wires are you using?
If it's whine through the speakers you may need to adjust your amp's levels, turn down the gains, possibly???

So...Active Noise Cnxln...wish it worked for folks who call us when we are driving our Broncos. My wife complains that there is so much background noise she can hardly hear me (WildTrak Lux, Hardtop).

Unless you’re amplifying fake ass sound signals which appears to be the case here.
I didn't read every post, is it confirmed they do this?

Hey all,

I installed an aftermarket amp and subs in my 4 door lux OBX, and I'm running into an issue. Whenever I accelerate, my subs give off a hum in time with the engine, and after some googling, I discovered the engine sounds in these is fake/amplified.

Does anyone know if it's possible to disable the fake engine sound? Will I have to go through the dealer?

List of equipment used in case anyone's curious:

2 Skar SVR-12s in custom enclosure
Skar RP-1500.d amplifier
Knukonceptz 4 AWG OFC wiring kit
AudioControl LC2i tapped into front kick panel speakers (gonna need to patch into the factory sub wiring, these speakers don't have much bass below 60hz)
you can always start by the easiest thing, radio filter in the engine bay, a simple wire to check

I wish I had an answer for you, but it looks like you're finally getting some actual assistance in the later posts instead of the typical smart ass B6G responses.

I too have read multiple posts about fake engine sounds over the last couple years. Your question was 100% legit It did not warrant pages of people trying to call you out.

It's questions like this, and finally finding a resolution that will help future Bronco owners.. not all the smart ass responses.

Surprise you didn't get accused of waxing your amp!
