I am sorry for not following. If the 4 pin is spliced into the 7 pin, how does the 7 pin get the signal to activate the trailer brakes?

The 4 Pin Harness has 4 wires - White, Green, Yellow, BrownI am sorry for not following. If the 4 pin is spliced into the 7 pin, how does the 7 pin get the signal to activate the trailer brakes?
I don't have the part numbers handy, but I linked the controller and harness in a previous reply above. Can you please provide a parts list with part numbers?
Using the Ford factory 7-pin/4-pin is an excellent end result and looks very good. I haven't seen anyone else do that and I don't know what the part number for it is.
I was debating adding it to be 100% complete, but I am not sure the best place to pull a signal from. I guess the logical place would be the reverse lights in the tail lights but didn't want to start cutting and not being sure... If you do it, let me know!Great writeup. I only need the reverse center wiring for my boat.
The pics took this from "cool I'm sure it will help a lot of people", to "I can do that". Any idea if it will work with Bronco's without the LED tail-lights? I know the Curt 4-pins have a different harness for each. Here are some pics of what I was describing:
I can's see why it wouldn't work... I gotta imagine the curt harness, whether its LED or not, delivers the same signal to the 4 pin wires making the install the same as what I did.The pics took this from "cool I'm sure it will help a lot of people", to "I can do that". Yep, piece of cake! Get yourself some fish tape and itll make life much easier. I fished from front to backThis is awesome info, thank you. One of my biggest concerns is getting 12V back to my trailer to keep the trailer battery charged.

Where did you find the 7 pin connector metal mount plate? I had to add the ford hitch myself as well and it only came with a 4 pin plate. My dealer sold me the hitch and the 4 pin wiring that I would need to tap in. I went on etrailer and got their 7 pin plug n play wire harness and bought the 4/7 ford connector like you show. I tried to buy that connector plate from ford but couldn’t find a part number. I just grabbed sheet metal scrap from work and made my own. Would prefer the oem one. Oh, bye the way, ford brake controller is the redarc like you have and their location for it is to install it in the arm rest near where the window and mirror controls are. On that same face but closer to the driver. Here are some pics of what I was describing:
The bracket for the 7 pin came in the box with my hitch receiver. It had a 4 pin and 7 pin bracket. @flip could probably get you a part number if you ask nicely… good to know about the knob, I kinda like my location better though, just personal preference I guessWhere did you find the 7 pin connector metal mount plate? There is a mounting point on the hitch receiver for the electricsI have already installed the Curt hitch receiver.
Does the Ford 7/4 pin plug attach to the Ford hitch or the frame?
What kind of pigtail? Can you show specifically what you used?3. Add a pigtail to the blue wire from the harness and run through the firewall plug
