Interesting exchange with the dealership that I purchased my Bronco from... They quoted me almost double what the Ford Extended Warranty site lists for the same coverage.

Is anyone else seeing this?

Thanks so much.

Hidden ADM? Call Granger in IA, see if they are still offering $50 over cost.

I'd call them out on the price...show them what Ford advertises on the website.

Be careful with this, a lot of the "warranties" dealerships are trying to sell aren't actually the Ford Protect warranty, but some third party.

I almost got screwed when I bought mine as the dealership offered me what appeared to be a great deal, less than was I was quoted from Grainger. As I was signing paperwork, I noticed the warranty was not specified as Ford Protect, but as something else (I can't remember the name). When I inquired and had to push him a bit, I found out what they were doing and had them remove it.

Thanks so much. This is the site. It appears to be legit.

Get them as low as you possibly can *with* the warranty included.

Then “decide” at the end that you don’t want the warranty

Purchasing through Granger is extraordinarily easy. They recently automated a lot of it, too, so you’ll get it same/next day

Here is what I do.
Before going in, I look at the price of the ESP here.
Ford ESP Plans (floodfordesp.com)
I don't know how this compares to Granger, but it is pretty close to zero markup.
After the upsell guy tells me why I need the ESP, I show him this website and say if he can match the price here, I'll buy it.

Sometimes they will, and sometimes they will say they can't. If they can't, just say no-thanks and buy it online. Super-easy.

P.S. Good advice from @HighVelocity ... a fairly new scam to tell you about the Ford ESP but then try and slip in some other inferior warranty deal. One I saw recently said on the fine-print that all the warranty work had to be at their dealership.

Interesting... I noticed California was left off that website (where I am) for "choose state". I wonder why?

I did this with my dealer and the guy straight up told me to purchase from flood or Ziegler since he said there is no way they can match that. I told him ok and thanked him for his time and bought from Ziegler.

I bought my Badlands from Flood and new going in I was getting the ESP. There was no hassle beyond adding the rental/key/lamp add-ons I wasn’t interested in. I believe their price was slightly higher than Granger, but Flood was my dealer so I didn’t mind spending the extra $100 or whatever with them -they took good care of me.

Ran into this same thing, discovered a few months back that the 'Official Ford Extended Warranty' that my dealership sold me was absolutely not the real Ford plan. Found this out when I started getting emails from ford telling me to get coverage, *sigh*.

Am currently going through the paperwork to get it refunded and cancelled and taking the extra and just buying the warranty from Granger. Disappointed to find that the dealership with a pretty solid reputation here in Arizona was just a bunch of crooks like all the rest.

*edit*

Almost annoyingly, with the exception of one goofball issue (washer bottle tank split the plastic weld), I'm at 38,000 trouble-free miles.

Picked up my WT 3 WEEKS ago, showed the dealer the quote from Granger, hoping they would match. They simply said they couldn't come close to that price

It’s because your state doesn’t allow the sale of car warranties from other states. It’s for your protection of course. 🥲
