I worked at a Ford dealership this past year and I can tell you that the amount of recalls, weird problems that take a few visits to fix, etc. are out of control. Customers are not happy! It is amazing how many problems there are. The quality control is not good. I hope they get their crap together.

I don’t think it’s just Ford. And when you do have to take it in service is sub par. I’ve had some poor techs lately not making it better. I’ve been happy with my Bronco and our Mavericks. One of the two Sports, the current one is a POS.

I don’t think it’s just Ford.
It's almost a "pick your poison" type of thing.
The Subies we have had have tended to be pretty reliable overall, never leaving us stranded, but little things that start stacking up around 50,000 miles. Wheel bearings comes to mind. Then maybe the cv boots, then .... on top of expected things like brakes etc etc.

Usually nothing major, but smaller annoyances, somewhat spaced out as they occur.

I think somebody described them as "quirky", or something to that effect.
I found it to be something I could live with because of their other strong points.

EDIT: I think of it as, I can tolerate the easy mechanical stuff that wears out, if the issues had been in the electronics and the cars were becoming obsolete (unserviceable) due to all the inter-connected systems, I'd bail out on them at the first hint of that.

That is what unnerves me about the higher trim models, considering so many of Fords recalls are programming/code/electronics related.

My ‘21 Black Diamond has been excellent, but I don’t shout that all over the internet. I wonder how many other people have had similar experiences.
Love my 2021 but have lost count of how many recalls I have out standing and what could still come. I'm 65 years old have never had a car with so many recalls. I have had so many new cars in my life never one like this. Ford needs to get there shit together.

This was a completely new model vehicle in ‘21 during an unprecedented global supply chain cluster F. I had 523 days of waiting to cancel my order and make a safer decision like buying a Toyota Corolla. But I accepted the risk and try now not to bitch about my fuel pump that has a recall on it. I’ve never owned a “year 1” vehicle before, but this experience is about what I was expecting.

Why not feedback to the Mr-no-neck-jim-fartly CEO of Ford. Ever since he took over Ford, recalls been mounting and beating records each year! Over paid greedy lazy fat union workers are not helping either!

I have a love/hate affair w/ my Bronco. After 100+ days in service I'm filing for divorce.

My November 2021 Badlands has 46,XXX miles. I change oil/filter every 4K miles, air and cabin once a year. At 30,000 miles, I changed the front and rear differential and transfer case oil. Mechanically runs great. The recalls though! Make an appointment only to have them take a few days to even look at it, then they don't have parts and my truck ends up sitting at the dealership for a week. I currently have four or five recalls on the truck and I just have to bite the bullet and plan for it being down for a week I (or more) I guess. The worst part is the attitude of indifference from the my local Ford service. They are burned out and really could not care about any aspect of what they do.

Crap dealerships are nothing new and not limited to Ford by any means, regardless of perceived brand prestige.

The degree of regulation placed on the automotive world, I'm sure has something to do with the constant recall parade. Especially for the domestic "home" brands. But, I don't really consider a plastic seat belt clip to be a "recall". Tread coming of the tires, that's a "recall" event in my mind. A glitchy back-up camera, while an annoyance, isn't a "recall" event to me (what's the purpose of rearview mirrors?). Amazing we all survived being kids and didn't get back over by mom's minivan.....

I personally, would rather have a manufacture who is willing to offer those plastic seatbelt clips, or software updates as free recalls. At least they're willing to fix it.

But 100% agree the optics of Ford quality in this recall parade is being damaged now, and they need to fix that image.

Recalls for the most part never bother me since they are usually Ford conducting a “ cover thy arse” procedure. None of the current recalls ,shocks, rear camera, and most importantly fuel pump have been an issue with my Bronco. Even the windshield sealant recall or wiper reprogram were not issues experienced. The reality is Ford relies on others to manufacture components and if the manufacturers drop the ball, Ford catches the hell.

Sometimes, recalls can be a positive.... I had a recall for the 12v battery in my Maverick, to replace it with a new AGM. Even tho my truck was 3 years old, the original battery was fine, but I still got a new AGM courtesy of Ford....🤠
