Ok I have a F150 and a Bronco. I was wondering which is the better radio to have when off roading? Also is there a radio that I can use in either of my vehicles just by swapping the Mic hand unit, or do I need a complete set in each truck.

I found this for the CB part, it takes a $30.00 adaptor so I could swap the main unit between my trucks. Midland CB

Is there a unit like this for GMRS?

Midland GMRS 275 or 525 Have the same mic control options. Search GMRS and see a whole bunch of posts for Midland GMRS.

Yep, If you buy a CB today you might be the only one talking on it 😏
^^^^^^ THIS ^^^^^^

Don’t feel bad. I’m old school like you. Still have a CB. A club a couple hours north of me invited me out on a run with them a few years back. I asked what CB channel they use. Just got a whole lot of blank stares before somebody took pity on me and pulled me aside and explained how things work here in the 21st century

I picked up a handheld Baofeng right after that. Will be putting a Midland GMRS in the WT when it arrives.

When I first got into wheeling CB was the way. If you hang with old school guys they may still have one. GMRS has taken over though and I'd recommend at least having a handheld GMRS if you plan to go with a CB.

Unless you know you need a CB, like on some logging roads that require announcing position and direction on a specific CB channel, then go with GMRS. It's what all the cool kids use these days.
