If a coyote 5.0 V8 was a stand alone option available on any trim and with an auto or manual transmission, how much more would you pay (would you have paid) for it?

400+ lb ft is so much more than needed for what this vehicle was designed for. Yet we get that much anyway with the turbo 6. I see no point in a coyote engine in this truck.

Iā€™d have planned for an extra 3k to get the Coyote option. Taking HP to weight ratio, I would guess the coyote motor would probably average the same mpg that the 2.7 is going to get anyway. Prime example was the 2.5L 4 versus the 4.0L 6 in the older Jeeps. The 4 banger got worse fuel mileage than the 6 cyl

Considering I paid another $9,000 for my Duramax option in my 2500 series Chevy, I wouldnā€™t consider anything more than 5kā€¦Iā€˜m not sure what the true math is on the Jeep v8 because they add more options with the package, but my fuzzy math says itā€™s under 5kā€¦

I would have gone another grand higher had you not called out for the Coyote and instead used the 7.3 or de-bored variant.

You want low end torque in these trucks, a two valve engine is better and cheaper at that. Tell you what though, I will add the thousand back in if it is connected to a manual transmission.

To me, the V8 provides ā€œ peace of mindā€. In my case the Bronco is not an everyday driver. If a V8 option was available for an additional 5K , I would own it today. Unless of course the V8 was a commodity restraint. The stance, and look of the Bronco demands a V8 option. Other then that, it is a fantastic platform.

Iā€™d spend an extra $3,500 for a V8 but Iā€™d rather have the Ford Lion 3.0 diesel that which has averaged 28.5mpg over 63,000 miles in our 2018 Range Rover which is very similar in weight(5,000lbs) and size. The 443 ft/lbs of torque at 1,700 rpms easily pulls my 7,300 lb boat/trailer. Iā€™m going to keep my Bronco for decades and Iā€™d love to have a diesel option.
