I plan to keep my Bronco forever (when it finally gets here). I expect engines to reliably top 200K miles, so I'm a bit worried about these turbocharged four and six-cylinder engines that we have available. I've never owned a vehicle with a turbo, so my fears may be unfounded, but my impression (which may be incorrect) is that these won't last as long as a normally-aspirated V8.

Many of us already paid nearly $2K more for a V6 so another $2K, maybe.

Have people seen gas prices lately? Fuck a V8. As cool as that would be, I'm barely getting 14-15 mpg while city driving.

People are surly stuck on the V8 .seen so many post saying the Bronco needs a V8 , why ,or a real Bronco has a V8 and my 70s something had a V8 why dont the new one have one because the old V8s only made like 200 horsepower and my favorite mostly from old people is that the new Bronco only has so and so in it but sos and so make more horsepower then any factory V8 ford ever put in a Bronco thats why the new Bronco donor need a V8.

I've been driving a vehicle to work daily for the last 19 years that averages 12 MPG -- on the highway. Lol!

Jesus. Yea, I only hit 14-15 if I am in eco mode, and being very strict on driving. Typically, it's lower, maybe 12-13

Because I hate diesels. The smelly fuel, the sound, having to add pig piss, more complexity in the fuel system, the weight, cost of repairs, more limited on places that sell diesel.
I do appreciate the torque & can understand the draw, but I still would not go that route for me. YMMV

I wouldn't, the Coyote is a great engine and love it in my Mustang but a Bronco would not be well suited for it. The Mustang with its lower stance, sport tires, Brembo brakes, and magneride suspension still makes me pucker when I really get on it I just can't imagine it in a lifted SUV with bigger tires and smaller brakes.

Having drove a heavier F-150 with the same 2.7 in sport mode that engine is plenty for a Bronco. Just my 2c anyways.

True, counter counter: obvious benefits of low end torque, longevity, fuel efficiency

Yep longevity a good diesel will have it, a bad one won't. I just don't' tow to justify all the other previous mentioned items. Got boats out of my system when I was a kid. That "bust out another thousand" routine got old with our 2 jet boats & futzing with them every time we dropped it in the water. I tent camp so no 5-wheel / toy hauler ect.
