Now I'll need aftermarket matching gear sets for the m190!!!! (No locker though)LOL

Need to drop to at least 4.70 for the 35's I added, winning this would be a good time for that.
Maybe drop into the 5's and get really creepy crawly!!!

Shopping list:
  • Free ARB locker
  • buy the compressor set up
  • buy new ring and pinion for the rear
  • find matching r&p for the front, buy that.
  • Have the diffs installed
  • risk a limited slip for the M190?
  • upgrade front to a M210?
  • Do I need a new carrier for the M190 front if I'm changing ratios, IE: are they welded also?
So, a free rear locker ends up costing at least $3k , maybe 6 or 8K!! LOL!!!

I have been waiting for this for a long time. This and the ARB compressors are the last major pieces to finish my Heritage build.

The world’s premier traction aid for the Ford Bronco is here. ARB is proud to introduce the Air Locker for the M220 rear axle.

Providing instant grip at the flip of a switch by preventing the internal differential gears from rotating and therefore preventing the axle shafts from spinning independently of each other. Without it, the factory open differential only sends power to the tire without traction; but in reality, the tire that needs power is the one that has traction. This system is great for on-road driving but disastrous when off-road, making the selectable locking differential the ideal choice for most four-wheelers.

Why Air Locker?

The original Air Locker was developed in the 1980s. This design featured a three-piece case with an air actuated cast piston. A true, revolutionary piece of 4WD equipment for its time.

But as time has passed, the sport of off-roading has evolved exponentially. Large tires and engines in that era do not compare to what is being used today. 37” and 40” tall tires have become the popular choice. V8 engine swaps outputting over 500 horsepower are no longer few and far between.

To get ahead of the curve, ARB’s team of engineers were tasked with developing an Air Locker that would hold up to the future of four wheeling. The research and development consisted of many torque and failure tests on the Air Locker and other lockers. At the beginning of the 21st century, the new and improved Air Locker was released. It featured a two-piece design, less internal parts, forged gears, and a patented timed locking system; all of which make it the world’s strongest locking differential.

Its limits have been put to the test, not only surviving but also winning multiple Ultra4 off-road races where drivers run 43” tall tires and 1000+ HP.

Many of our competitors still use the old three-piece case design that we manufactured in the 19th century.

  • Patented ‘timed’ locking mechanism offers high strength and ultra-fast unlocking
  • Steel reinforced, elastomer bonded annular seal designed to handle the most extreme climatic temperatures
  • Includes: Air Locker differential, activation switch, solenoid valve, airline and bulkhead fitting
  • Race proven technology
  • Manufactured in Australia

We're these used on the horses or the buggys?

Must have been the legendary Oregon Trail wagons.

This is super cool of ARB.

I got a manual Bronco and stuck to the base because Ford's options and package costs with the stick are absurd. Lack of a locker is the one thing that gave me pause on it. Here's hoping I get to fix that issue ahead of schedule.

Thanks!
