Looks nice! I have my mini 2 mounted in the same fashion

with regard to wireless CarPlay and the connection to the Garmin, you can’t do both. You have to disable wireless CarPlay in order to connect to the gain wirelessly. Alternatively, you can use CarPlay via cable and then it’s a non issue. There is no impact to the recording capability either way.

These work great. Was a little tricky wiggling the ford connector out at first, but the adapter makes powering dash cams a breeze.
So there is a connector provided behind the mirror?

I went with the Garmin Mini 2 and mounted it just to the left of the mirror using Electrostatic Film. The only thing I see is the activation light.
I was not aware of that solution. Can the film be moved and reapplied?

I just installed my first dashcam (N4 Pro) using the Donger cable. The issue I have is ASS forces the camera to lose power when stopped at a light. Does that happen with the Garmin? I assume so.

The N4 Pro has great video. But the size/weight are massive. I don’t think it’s gonna stay attached to the windshield when off-roading. But I’ll find that out soon enough. I used the electrostatic film and let the mount cure for 12hrs before attaching the camera. We shall see

OP, Thanks for the link but they’re currently sold out. Will be nice to get rid of my long cord.

Dongar is legit. I've used them on many other vehicles.

Oh man! Thanks! The cord in mine is driving me crazy all dangling around! I gotta get this shorter one. I think I mounted mine in the wrong place. It's between the mirror and the the windshield, I wanted it out of the way and it looks like ass with the stuff dangling.

Edited to add: You used a 1 ft cord? That's what the Amazon link pulls up but it seems like that is way longer than your install photo. Am I missing something here?

Side note - does anyone know where to get more of the magnetic discs? I have one in my Bronco and one in my work truck and I switch the camera depending on what I'm driving. I think I'll need a new one to move mine.

As another aside, I have the Garmin 67W, and I can say "Garmin save video" and it activates and saves the video without having to touch the phone or take my hands of the wheel.

What I wish is someone near me would get the integrated one, and I could borrow their housing to measure it and 3D print a replica so I could put mine in there, then I could have voice activated with the camera tucked away and out of sight.

This would mean I'd lose the ability to switch it between cars, but I think I'd just put a new one on my work AmEx for the work truck.

Very nice! I have the Garmin 55 and Mini in both my rides. The only difference I would have done is mount the camera higher so it's out of view when driving (more left and up towards the driver side). I just hate having anything obstructing my view, so personal preference. I've had my Garmin 55 for about 6 years and the mini for about 4 and they have been flawless!
