I'm planning out a warn winch. the forums mention a possible parasitic battery draw. Is that possible, maybe an Bluetooth thing,,, and how would you address that? Using a relay on an uplifter switch, or a battery disconnect on the winch comes to mind.

Go with a battery disconnect, not only for parasitic draw but also safety - This thread will make you a believer.

I was thinking of going with something like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Rough-Countr...winch+power+cable+7+ft+-+rs107,aps,144&sr=8-1

This will be my first winch so I don't have any experience but it seems like a simple, easy solution. I won't be wheeling often enough to worry about any hassle of connecting/disconnecting and I won't have to be concerned about another piece in the line failing and possibly drawing power while disconnected.

I highly recommend a 600amp fuse as well. Mostly due to issues like in this thread.

I routed my power line in a way that I can bypass the fuse and disconnect if I needed to.

I put a wing nut on the accessory terminal on the battery and leave it disconnected until I need it.

I went the relay route triggered by Aux #1.

The signal wire for the relay, assuming you are doing a high voltage relay like a PAC shouldn't draw more than a couple amps when triggered. It seems to be a waste to use Aux 1 for it IMO if you can avoid it.

I used Aux6 for my install with a 500A battery isolator. A battery disconnect is fool proof, but I wanted to use the Aux switch because it was there.

Does this bracket mount behind the fuse block where the two ground cables land (upper right cowl)?
Right as you are looking at it in that photo or standing from the front looking in, but it would actually be the Left cowl - rear driver's side of the engine compartment, right at the back edge of the hood above the firewall. Just behind the fuse box - and yeah, should be a ground cable mounted to the frame just to the left of where that photo is taken.
